Should I follow Pearson vue handbook in skill exam?

Published

Hi,

I took my CNA class in VA. I need to take CNA state board in Pearson test center.

Should I follow the test hand book in skill ? or I can just follow the youtube to do skill test? ~ I know there are some different steps of procedure between test hand book and youtube but our instructor plays youtube in class then we practice the same way as youtube.

I'm so nervous and confused:facepalm: ..

EX:

In Pearson hand book--

Cathether care, it clean Catheter area only.

( our instructor show the youtube, cathether care is including genital area )...i don't know if i do more procedure will be better or nothing extra will be fine.???

Follow your handbook! I just took the skills test with Pearson Vue back in April, and they wanted the steps performed exactly like the handbook, and they wanted them in order. I used the videos to study, but make sure to note where the video is different so you know to do the handbook step instead

Definitely! And don't miss any bold steps that are listed or it's an automatic fail for that skill. Good luck!

yes,~ I have a question about how to do perform "respiration" skill? I watched some CNA skill in youtube. One of them shows put one alcohol pad on the abdomen and hold wrist as count pulse~but there is one skill video shows only watch the chest ~ I don't have any idea which one will be better as state board exam needed. any suggestions??
