You've just started the program. Give it time, at least a year. Some people (aka me) are bad test takers and excellent workers. You may love the clinicals, and that's what you'll be doing as a nurse day in and day out, not taking sit-down tests. Down the line, you may be happy you stuck with it.
I'm in your situation. It's my first semester, and I've made scores in the mid 70's. So I'm stepping back, taking a look at how I've been learning and trying to readjust how I'm learning. It's taking time to think like a nurse, and do critical thinking, but we'll get there!
Don't give up! Keep in there and keep trying. It would be a shame to come this far just to give up now. There is still time to rethink how you are thinking and pull your grades up.

Couldn't agree more! :lol2:When it's on paper, it loses some meaning for me. Where as in application (doing the job) I am capable of great things! I've been a solid B nursing student so far. I realize it could be worse, but there is that part of me that isn't satisfied with less than 100, you know?
OP: Don't get discouraged, and don't feel alone in the battle against tests in nursing school. Get yourself a good study ritual and stick with it. Don't give up without a fight!
I agree with doing Fundamental for success question. Practing questions helps you to see what critical thinking is all about. What helped me through fundamentals were reading and doing questions. Fluid and electrolyes are about knowing the normal ranges and and what your role as a nurse is. The concept behind nursing is understanding what the doctors know but doing what nurses do..... What book are you all using for Fundamental. You may be able to register your book on evolve.com and get more practice questions and scenarios. Read and interpret your lessons by applying scenarios and what the nurse would do.
Also, there is a book/ video out about test taking tips for nurses. This helped me alot. I just graduated and I am willing to help as much as possible because school was a struggle for me. i made it through without having to repeat a course.
It's too early to give up. Stay encouraged. Also seek out other classmates and try studying together.

I've just started the program this August.
I've had 2 exams so far.
I didn't do well on this exams. I got low 70s for both of these exams.
I'm not sure if I can do this.
Maybe nursing is not right career for me? I've made As and Bs in my core classes.
I don't know what to do. What should I do? should I keep try?
If I fail I cannot come back to this school for nursing and not sure if I can go to other schools.
