  1. As a new nursing student with no experience, watching my peers with experience fly easily through clinicals, this is a topic I enjoy reading ^^) Today was my first clinical day. I felt very lost for a while. But I have hope it'll be easier in time.
  2. I'm in your situation. It's my first semester, and I've made scores in the mid 70's. So I'm stepping back, taking a look at how I've been learning and trying to readjust how I'm learning. It's taking time to think like a nurse, and do critical thinking, but we'll get there! Don't give up! Keep in there and keep trying. It would be a shame to come this far just to give up now. There is still time to rethink how you are thinking and pull your grades up.
  3. I'm a visual learner as well. I have a formerly blank area on the wall in front of me (behind my desk) that I PLASTER with post it notes. Lab values, short notes, definitions, formulas, everything!
  4. Or go to your browsers history and look there
  5. Good luck getting in! My BFF will try for that program after she does a few more pre reqs :)
  6. (to all of them) We just started nursing school two days ago. Here is to hoping we all make it! And get along for the next two years!
  7. OMG! I'm not alone! *wine I love my Uni-Ball Signo. Especially the orange one. And walmarts new line, @theOffice, they have a similar one that I love
  8. White EVERYTHING! ugh. I'd love it, if it were some sort of color. I'd even be happy with black pants/white top. At least I did get to buy them anywhere I wanted. So I ordered some cute white ones from uniform advantage. The ones in the bookstore are hideous!
  9. Awesome! I'm glad to hear there is another :) I'm very excited to start as well. I've finally gotten all of my 'ducks in a row', so to speak. Just had my TB test read today, and now I've got everything ready. I can hardly wait until we pick up books Monday! Are you gals ready to start? I sure am :) (I'll be the one with the thick, rectangular, dark red glasses)
  10. Oh cool! I'm so glad that at least one person here is going to school with me :). Are you ready for classes? I've got just about everything but books and shots ready to go! Yeah these postings on here range from scary to wonderful and everything in between! I haven't heard that about the NICU rotation. I think we start out with med surg first, but I could be wrong.
  11. Hey there! But hey, the orientation is august 10th! Unless, you are from a different SCC? (kentucky?)
  12. Fav color + Fav critter = OrangeDragoness a name I've been using online for nearly a decade now.
  13. I didn't make it in when I applied last year. (was a few points short!) I spent the year improving my stats and I'm happy to say I was accepted this time. Keep your head up and use this time as wisely as possible! You'll make it!
  14. We have to wear all white scrubs. But thank goodness it doesn't matter where they are purchased. I got some that are cut nicely, and a bit thicker.
  15. Thanks for the response. I got my watch and it fits fine :)
