Should I be concerned...

I am in nurs 1010 (fundamentals) ADN program. My clinical professor is very laid back. Great guy, but I am concerned that I am going to be in for a rude awakening during nurs 1020. I have been doing more that he has requested. There are 5 other groups and I have been trying to follow their regimen. We have a long weay to go in the semester and maybe there is method to his madness; however, I see the other groups and I feel that I am "behind". Any advice?:banghead:

What are they doing that you aren't being required to do? Have you tried talking to your clinical instrutor?

Good point. I have spoken with the professor and he told me to relax, everything will happen in due time. We still have not been required to hand in a care plan and for that matter have not yet been assigned a single patient. We have spent our clinical in a nursing home/rehab helping the cna's with their task. I know, I don't mind paying my dues; however, the 5 other groups have moved beyond what we have been doing and have begun assessments, care plans, etc. Maybe I do need to be patient and relax.

This was my first YEAR of nursing. & in Australia, it seems to be the norm, too.

Calm down, keep cool, relax.

No care plan, lucky you! Our program must be a little different because we are thrown into it right from the get go and have to do a care plan our second week of school and start doing assessments our fourth week. I prefer the gotta jump to learn how to fly approach.
