Should I apply now or later?

I'm currently taking a HHA class...I couldn't afford the cna class so I'll do that next. I want to be an LPN, but its full time. I also need to work and save some money(I'm a teen mom...I'd like to be able to buy my daughter what she needs, and also have some spending money for myself). So I was wondering if I should work for a year as a cna/hha full time, or if I should try to start LPN school this year and work the summer and weekends. (the program I'm hoping to get into doesn't start until October)

Honestly, it probably depends on your support system. Do you have enough family or friends to rely on for help with your child? Nursing school can be very demanding, so you need to have enough time for class, clinical, and study time. Then you have to find time for work and being a mom.

There might be a couple benefits to working as a CNA for a year. Not only will you be able to save money, but you will get a good grip on dealing with patients and being in the clinical setting. Whatever you decide, I wish you luck! Its very admirable that you want to get a good education for you and your child.
