Short term strategies for lifting a child.

I'm looking for ideas to help private duty nurses, working for an agency with a 40 lb limit on lifting, transfer a child in the 40 - 45 lb range who temporarily can't bear any weight on his feet, and has limited ability to use his hands to assist with a lift. All transfers would be between seated positions, such as bed to shower chair, or wheelchair to couch. I'm looking for solutions that work with just one adult, when a parent isn't home to assist.

Ideas?

I love YouTube. I'm sure there are many nursing videos on transferring patients in various settings.
