Has anyone else noticed (Shingles) Herpes Zoster seems to have an increased frequency in late winter or early spring. Now this observation of mine is not based on any scientific study, just a personal observation. Every year this time I get a cluster of phone calls about from friends, neighbors and family about someone with Shingles. Matter of fact I had three calls this week. At work I see it in immunosuppressed patients year round but in healthy people it seems to cluster around this time of Feb. through April. I admit it might just be a coincidence but I was wondering if decreased exposure to sunlight and falling Vit. D levels could play a part.

I don't know, but I had them in October. They sucked! The Tyl#3 w/ codeine didn't do squat for the pain, either.

Well, chicken pox tends to hit around this time of year..but I don't know. A friend of mine just started with shingles yesterday and she is miserable.

I agree Oramar! Tons of calls lately. Also, I have seen more in CA then I ever did in the midwest. But, on the opposite hand, many more kidney stones in the midwest then CA. ?????????
