SHARP 2024 Summer Residency

Updated:   Published

I didn't see any posts for this upcoming cohort, so I wanted to start one 🙂

Has anyone gotten back to any of you about your applications or is it still too early? I saw interviews are April/May

Has anyone ever heard back from Sharp Chula Vista? Also... for those who have gotten an interview did you have prior experience as a PCA/PCT or are currently working? I tried emailing them back but haven't heard back.

I worked before/throughout school in a different field but with a lot of transferable skills. Interviewed + got offer at memorial

I'm wondering because I have a little over one year of pct/pca experience before I started school. I didn't want to work so I can focus in school. Did you also get other certifications like ACLS on top of the BLS requirement? I've slowly given up on finding a new grad RN program in San Diego 😞

Yes... ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, mental health first aid and additional certs my school offered. Just keep applying and get some more certs! NIHSS is only $10 from AHA

Okay I'll get started on those! Thanks so much!

Just got a call that I've been selected for an alternate position at memorial MICU🙃

that's great news! Hopefully they'll be making more calls here soon this week and next week!

Does anyone know about the reference form/ RN experience form? After receiving both, are you more likely to receive an offer?

I got both of those  and got an offer. People from previous new grad cohorts seemed to think it was a good sign. I would think it means you're at least in a very narrowed down selection of candidates!

Thank you! If you don't mind me asking, how long after receiving these forms did you receive an offer?

My reference form was an online portal and my references had to fill out a survey about me. They had a fast turn around luckily so that was about 3 days total. Once that was submitted it took approximately a week before I got an offer call/letter.
