Sharp New Grad Residency 2018

Nurses New Nurse

Hey Everyone! just wanted to get a page started where we can help each other out while we wait to hear back from Sharp! Good luck to everyone!:)

I got a call on Nov 29th for an interview with one of the SHARP ED's. Interview was for Dec 20th, but then was called back and told the only day I can come interview is Dec 5th...I wish I knew more about what the process is like after the interview if we are selected (how long it normally takes to find out, if there are any obligations from selection to start date, etc...).

Which hospital?

SHARP Chula Vista ED. I was only able to select one unit when I applied, and Scripps didn't even consider me (still says "Under Review" almost 2 mo later lol), so I am beyond excited for this opportunity to interview. Most of the students who I graduated with who were Scripps internal hires were recruited by the Scripps New Grad program for January 2018. I figured the same would happen to me with SHARP, but I just couldn't physically/mentally handle working a CNA/Tech job with Scripps/SHARP while focusing my attention on a grueling accelerated BSN program.

Awesome!!! I actually interviewed for Scripps Green and didn't end up getting it. Which is fine because i want to do ER and said that in my interview LOL oops. I'm also not an internal candidate.

I applied to Grossmont ER, hopefully I hear back.

I know a couple nurses, and a physician who worked at Grossmont ED, and they all said it was a great place to learn, and practice Emergency Medicine due to the huge patient population from out east that uses that ED. I hope you hear something soon!

I interviewed with Sharp memorial last Monday afternoon. Tuesday morning I woke up to an email requesting my references (online and mandatory) I submitted then and the individuals sent in there feedback. I followed with HR on Wednesday and they told me everything was forwarded back to the hiring manager. Not sure what that means but I was hoping I'd hear something before the weekend since the request came so quickly but nope. I didn't hear anything. Hopefully next week.

That's awesome, a request for references sounds like a good sign. Can you give some feedback on what your interview was like? I'm interviewing with Sharp Memorial next week.

Oh ok. The interview process is really relaxed and more of a conversation. I'm sure there will be a panel. They ask typical question. Why you wanna be a nurse. Why Sharp. And then some situational / example questions.

Thank you! This is my first nursing interview and I'm pretty nervous! Hope you hear something today.
