Sharp New Grad Residency Spring 2019

Published

Just figured I'd start the thread!

Applied to MICU/SICU & Med Surg/PCU for my second choice.

Unsure why I applied as I am unlikely to be licensed by Feb 7th but - Wishful thinking I guess! Graduation date is 12/15/18. :)

Best of luck to everyone!

What department were the rejections for? No I haven't heard anything either app still says under consideration

The people I know who got denied both of their first choices were for the ED track but their rejection just said new graduate program

Ahhh yes someone I know who applied for ED as#1 got a rejection too. They probably haven't gone through the ICU apps yet if no one has heard either way...

As far as I know rejections and interview invites for ED were the first to be completed. I know of some poeple having been invited for interviews for the MS/PCU rotation (both internal and external). However, I have not heard of anyone who got an invite for either L&D or ICU rotaiton residencies. However, i DO know of 2 collegues of mine who chose MICU/SICU as their first choice and were rejected within 24 hrs of submitting the applicaiton. I would assume if you put either ICU or L&D as your first choice and you HAVENT heard back yet, that is probably a good sign.

We'll keep all our fingers crossed :)

I hope so AnxiousFutureRN- they said the interviews would be December/January ... :)

Hey everyone! I know a few colleagues who work in the MICU. I'd stay patient until January as it sounds like not a lot is going on hiring wise this December. I wish you all good luck!

So does this mean the M/SICU rotation is getting cancelled ???

Or maybe they'll just postpone start dates...

That would actually be even better for me! LOL so - I guess i don't mind that :)

Haha yep.. fingers crossed then

Now that the site is back up again -- Curious if anyone else on here got the interview Invite for Sharp CV ICU track?

I interviewed on 1/10/19 and was told they still had about half the interviews to go... So I would be notified by phone call regardless of the outcome in about 2 weeks.

I was also told that the actual residency wouldn't actually begin for about another 6-8 weeks (at that time). Something about them being short for available preceptors at this particular point in time.
