Hi I just wanted to start a thread for this! Is anyone applying?

I got an invitation to self identify but the link isn’t working LOL

Which hospital did you apply for and get an email for self identify?

memorial, but based on past forums, the email doesn’t mean anything LOL

I also applied there but never got an email for self identify.... Are you internal or external?

The self identify email doesn't mean anything! And we actually aren't supposed to/can't fill it out.  It says that it's a mistake or something on the FAQ page

Specializes in SICU.

It seems like the self identify email was sent to both internal and external applicants.

Hi! I applied to Grossmont L&D last month when the application opened. I’m assuming it’s going to be super competitive (doesn’t help that I didn’t study in San Diego ofc) so my hopes aren’t too high but trying to stay optimistic! Good luck to everyone ?

Did anyone receive an email about choosing site/unit preferences? Does that mean anything?

Also - does anyone know how strict they are about the RN experience? I've been working per diem in behavioral health for almost a year and no medical experience in a hospital.

that email seems like a good sign!

Hello,

I am new grad (I do not have any clinical or hospital working experience). I applied for the Med Surg floor and New Grad Residency program in many hospitals in New Jersey. I did not hear back anything from them. I have the opportunity to work in a Nursing Home and pay-wise it is $33/hour. I am not sure should I start working in Nursing Home or wait for other hospitals to respond. What should I do in this situation? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi! I would say go for it, get the experience. You can still be considered for Sharp’s new grad program as long as you have less than 12 months of nursing experience! Also any experience puts you in a better position for future new grad applications. Good luck!!

Yeah, that's true. Just because Nursing Home will give me the experience of more Med Administrations and little nursing skills. I was in doubt to go for nursing home, as the hospital might not consider my that experience. But your comment helped me to think about it. Thank you so much for your comment and guidance.
