Hi there!

I am currently applying for the SFSU ELMSN program and wondering if there is anyone else on here applying? Didn't see a thread for it so figured I would start one.

Has anyone gotten an email invite to an interview for the pediatric specialty? I haven’t ?

Hello @FutureGreennurse42 - My GPA wasn't amazing. I had a 3.62 cumulative GPA for everything in college and out of my undergrad including the prerequisites. NursingCAS low-balled me from my undergrad grade because they calculate things stupidly, but the schools have all of the official transcripts to cross-reference for discrepancies anyway.

My undergraduate double majors were History with a Focus in East Asia and Film Studies. So about as far from nursing as you could get. I didn't take a single science class while I was in my undergrad at Smith.

So, it's my belief that it's the work I've done after completing my BA that made me stood out. I was an after-abortion counselor, providing the mental health gap that was frequently left after a procedure at a Planned Parenthood (or other clinic) and going home. I worked for many years as a domestic violence advocate and counselor both in the shelter and the office. Currently, I am still am a parent support counselor for a child abuse prevention center where I have my own clients. Looping back around, I became a Board President/Chair of the same reproductive health and justice non-profit where I used to be a counselor.

It's clear that I want to be a psych nurse, and my experience, while not completely within the medical or nursing field, was at the intersection of physical and emotional safety for different populations, mostly women.

I haven’t got anything either. Maybe they are sending invites every week on the same day? So I think that would be Thursday since people got invites last Thursday. But I could just be overthinking it LOL

I received my interview invitation email yesterday at 4:54 pm! They are probably still sending out invitation to other people so hold on tight ?
