Not yet. Am still trying to reach out someone who go to SFSU. I need to ask some questions and get some advice. There is one student on Tiktok that goes by "Nurse Zoey" (@nurse.zoey) could you guys try to DM her and ask about clinicals, preceptorship and more?

I think I'm sticking with sjsu and these are my reasons:

1) the preceptorship. My brother had a classmate that just graduated from SF state and she said she was annoyed that she couldn't put that she had a preceptorship on her resume. I think preceptorship is super important to make connections and learn hands on. But if someone can confirm with me that sfsu 100% doesn't have it.

2) the NCLEX pass rate for sjsu is around 90% while sfsu is around 80-85% (I don't remember exactly but I saw it was lower)

3) Sjsu is ranked #12 best nursing school in CA while sfsu was #32

4) and for me personally, I'm going to be commuting and if I went to SF it would be with bart and then bus/shuttle (which would take 1.5 hour) and to SJ it would be with my car which is about 1 hour without traffic and 1.5 hours with traffic. But I would rather just commute with my car.

If anyone finds something though let me know, I might change my mind

Wow 10 mins!! I live in Concord ? I would probably be on campus for like the whole day when we have classes to avoid traffic times. We should form study groups if anyone else is also going to be on campus between classes

Hey thanks so much for this input, I also spoke to someone on fb earlier and she stated she's on the ABSN prog on SF which is the same as the BSN prog but faster. She said that "You have to learn patho on your own. Pharm is sort of included in the theory classes and in the clinicals, but you have to learn a lot of it on your own.The preceptorships can only be in adult med surg, so no labor and delivery, no Peds, no NICU, etc". So I guess, the preceptorship rlly is limited to only med-surg

And I also agree, I would rather commute an hr to sj w my car than bart to sf ?

hi everyone,

congrats to everyone on their acceptance and wishing everyone goodluck on their nursing journey. I applied to the ELMSN and we are still waiting on decisions ? it's killing us not knowing but I was wondering if any of you guys got an official financial aid packet before admission acceptances or after?

Hi! For those who are in their first semester, I'm wondering if anyone can share what clinicals are like and how classes are taught. Thank you in advance!
