SFSU BSN Fall 2018

Published

Given the app for fall 2018 isn't due for another two months, this is a bit early but I wanted to see other people's stats and thoughts on the SFSU app.

My stats:

3.9 cumulative GPA

4.0 prereq GPA

86.7% TEAS

101+ health/multicultural volunteer hrs

No second language, military status, or CNA license so not sure if I'll make the cut

Hard to know what to expect with a SFSU without a point system. My stats have got me barely making the cut-off point for most CSUs based on previously admitted student stats

Hello,

I'm applying for fall of 2018 as well.

My prereq GPA is 3.8

Cumulative GPA is 3.8

TEAS was a 87.3%

I'm currently working as an EMT and work at ST Rose Hospital in Hayward, CA

I speak a second language

No military affiliation

Good Luck!

Hi I applied as well.

Cumulative GPA: 3.72

Prereq GPA: 3.75

TEAS: 81.3%

CNA licensed expired as of SEP2017 however licensed to work as a CNA through hospital certification.

My stats seems so low compare to other applicants but I'm being optimistic and hoping for a good news. :)

Good luck to all of us!

Hey Kenneth,

I think you should be good man, Hopefully they will consider your experience over a few grade points. Good luck to you!

Hey,

I also applied for fall 2018!

Overall gpa: 3.93

Pre-req gpa: 4.0

Teas: 91%

- 60 you're volunteering through a hospice organization

I don't have great work experience so I'm hoping that my grades and Teas score will compensate. I also included a letter of varification that I worked on the executive board of my school's LGBT+ and allies club hoping that would count as multicultural volunteer work, but it was honestly a shot in the dark.

Best of luck to everyone!

I'm applying for Fall 2018 too

GPA: 3.9

TEAS: 88% (retaking it in two weeks)

Have around 1000 hours of healthcare work and foreign language.

Where do I find the supplemental nursing application? I've only applied for transfer admission.

Hi jayme, unfortunately you missed the supplemental nursing application :( it was due January 15th

Hi guys!

Both GPAs are 4.0

TEAs is 89.3

and im CNA certified and have been working for 150+ hours (currently working right now).

I'm hoping i get in!!

I just logged onto my SFSU student center and my application was changed from Nursing to my alternate. Did this happen to anyone else? I'm going to call tomorrow to find out what's up...

I haven't checked but i just received an email from SFSU that said "congrats on being admitted to sfsu" and details about a new student workshop. I'm confused though? We haven't even gotten emails about interview yet.

That's most likely for general admission for the university.

UPDATE: I called the admissions office and they told me that it is normal and that it would change back to Nursing if I get accepted by the nursing program.

This same thing happened to me so I sent admissions and the nursing department an email but they never got back to me. So thanks for sharing this, I found it helpful. :)
