Hi everyone!
So, I graduated BSN in 2007 but i shifted into a different career..
I just took my NCLEX March 2011 and I passed it.
Do I still consider myself as a new grad?
I applied in some LTC facilities in palo alto, menlo park even on fremont and hayward (more or less 20 walk ins).. i had 3 job interviews.. 1 offered me volunteer, the other 2 didnt call back(it's been 1 month already) but still can't find a job! it's making me feel hopeless..im really getting depressed
should i relocate now? is it better in sacramento/vallejo/fairfield area?
(and one more thing, i didnt do follow up calls.. is that why i dont get luck?)
any advice?

Its really tough for all new grads (or newly licensed) nurses in the Bay Area. I graduated in May, 2011 and have had three interviews. I got one job as a flu clinic RN but that is ending in about 2 weeks. I always do follow up calls but that is probably not the reason you havent been offered anything yet. I have also heard that it is just as bad in fremont and sacramento areas. There are just WAY TOO MANY nurses and very few positions. The best advice I can give it just keep trying and be persistent and network!
how about in San Jose? ugh! where will I ever find my luck?! I've given out a ream of resumes already to almost all the facilities in my area. Did you also try it out in LTC? I think my last option will be applying for aesthetic clinics or do caregiving if i still dont get any job before december

South Bay isn't good either... or should i just say the whole bay area has too many new grad nurses bc there are just so many nursing schools here?! I have been looking persistently to stay in the bay but looking for jobs is really hard here
