Was wondering about the service obligation for nurse NCP program. I heard it was 3 years and also 5 years, any idea on which or if it is variable? thanks

it depends on how long you are a candidate... 1 or 2 years....
I think you will the obligation to be 4 or 5 years - depending on the above. If you can swing it you might be financially better off by taking loans and doing a lump sum repayment depending on your loan%... also remember all stipends or bonus or payback will be taxed at 28%.

Hey Just_cause,
Thanks for the info...I have questions about the NCP...How quickly are U required to take the NCLEX upon graduating from nursing school? Do they give u ample time to prepare for the NCLEX? I'm strongly considering doing the ANCP program to finish my last year of my BSN d/t the economic crisis... Also, can U tell me what's the likelihood of becoming an Neonatal NP if I go the L&D route in the Army Nurse Corp? Thanks n advance for your help, as always...
