For me ... as someone who interviews people and receive such notes ... an e-mail would be fine. It would be fine for most of my colleagues. A snail mail note would take several days to wind its way across town, to our mail room, to my office, etc. An e-mail would be quicker and more certain of reaching me.
However, I can't speak for the manager in question. Have you had other e-mail communications with her? Does she seem like an e-mail kind of person? Did she give you her e-maill address and say, "Feel free to e-mail me with any questions" or anything like that?

Had an interview yesterday and job shadow today, I would like to send a thank you note, I interviewed with the Perioperative Clinical Manager of a huge hospital, I'm afraid a handwritten card/letter sent via snail mail wouldn't get to her, would an emailed thank you note be ok?
