Seeking an RN Preceptor

I am applying to the LVN to RN transition program at ASU. I am desperately looking for an RN preceptor in one of several cities in Texas. If you are an RN that has taken the preceptor course and would be interested in helping me out..PLEASE let me know. Or if you have been through the program at ASU and have any ideas on how to find a preceptor.. please post. Thanks!:)

Surely the school has a method for putting you in touch with someone. Did you try an advisor/instructor yet at the school?

They gave of a list of affiliated hospitals and instructions that we were secure our own preceptor for the school would not be responsible for doing it for us.

Did you ever find an RN preceptor in Texas? If so, how, and can you advise how to find one currently? I'm in the Abilene, TX area finishing up my return to nursing as an RN and need the 80 hours clinical. Please contact me with any information.

Thank you!

I realize that this original post is very dated, but this seems to be an ongoing issue

This is a complete Rip-Off!!! Undergraduate "Schools" that do not have adequate arrangements for clinical practicums are not worth the tuition you pay them. Even if you can find a qualified individual who is willing to this for free, it is very doubtful that they are going to get their employer to agree to it due to inherent liability issues, impact on the preceptor's productivity, and existing commitments to other educational programs. Buyer Beware!
