I am wondering/hoping if anyone can give me some advice?
I am an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse in Australia working in an Oncology/Hematology and Palliative Care Ward, for the last 3 years and 8 months... not counting!!! I know most of the world does not recognise this role, but that is not my problem!
My problem is I am in my last year of Uni for Registered Nursing, and would like to know if I can transfer my Australian Uni credits over to a Uni in Canada? Apart from that, if I get a study visa, what jobs can I apply for in nursing? I have done my Assistant in Nursing, enabling me to be a Personal Carer, and obviously am currently in a higher level, but as mentioned previously, EEN's are not recognised. (EEN enables me to administer oral, topical, sub cut and IM injection medications, perform routine observations, hook up patients to N/Saline only to IVC and central lines, and attending to normal ADL's. I am basically like an RN's left hand. I CANNOT adminster IVAB's and take bloods, or give bloods/plateletts/chemo, but can do blood obs etc.)
If anyone can help, it would be greatly appriciated, Thank you! (Please excuse my spelling)

What degree will you have when you graduate? To work as an RN in BC, you need a bachelor's degree and they do recognize Australian bachelor's degrees as long as you did the required clinical and theory hours in medical, surgical, psych, peds and OB. You can go to http://www.rnabc.ca to learn about registering as a nurse, or search "Health Match BC" which has nursing jobs posted. It sounds like an enrolled nurse is the equivalent of our LPNs (lisenced practical nurses), but I don't know anything about immigration for them.
I seriously doubt you would be able to study in Canada and transfer all your credits. We have a severe shortage of nursing spots for Canadian students, so I can't imagine them accepting an Australian student into the program.

Thank you very much for your time and information.Thankfully I will be completing a bachelors degree in nursing. I shall look up the web site you suggested. Thank you once again and hope you have a great day.
Your welcome, I hope the sites are helpful. If you have any specific questions about the particular areas you are considering I would encourage you to post them. There are members who have lived and worked around the province on this bb. I've found this place is GREAT for getting the inside scoop. I got a lot of help with my most recent move.
