Second change Pre-Nursing Student

Published

Hi all I am Charniece and I am a pre Nursing student at GRCC. I've come on here to really meet and greet with fellow nursing students, graduate students, and seasoned nurses. I would like to pick up some valuable tips and strategies to navigate through nursing school. A little back history is I was an A's and B's student in high but lost my way Senior year. Needless to say it impacted my college career significantly initially. Thankfully at the ripe age of 25 I have managed to get it together while pursuing my dream to be a nurse. So far of what I have experienced of the Nursing world is pretty cut throat to be honest. I know and understand nursing is serious and therefore requires every inch of your being. Which I respect so much. Which is why I love it so. But I have to admit although I am doing much better I have little support from most nurses I come into contact with. And they seem to be down right stuck up. Not really sure what that is about. I have admit it kind of put a damper on my fire I had to succeed however I'm too bull headed to give up easily. But either way that is a little about me. Suggestions are greatly appreciated thanks for reading.

Yes that is true, I am all done with my pre-reqs except for two classes which I am doing now. But I was given permission to apply before I was done with them.

Yes the waitlist is crazy for the RN program at my college. Most people wait on average 4 1/2 yrs. The LPN waitlist is about 2 years or less. Which is why most students opt to get their LPN license so they can at least work as an nurse gaining experience until they can start their RN classes. In my opinion its really a win win situation.
