Seattle University Transfer 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello!

Is anyone applying as a transfer next Fall?

Hello guys. I am from California as well and I was invited for an interview. I'm not able to travel during the interview period so I requested an online interview. hopefully that does not hurt my chance. I'm also interested in what kind of questions will be asked in the interview, how many interviewers they have every year, and how many people do they take after the interview. My interview is on Feb 23rd.

I would love to know what questions they have asked in the past for anyone who has already gone through the interview process!

Hello Rivercat!

I recently got an email to interview for the Fall 2018 BSN cohort. Would you be able to give information on the types of questions the faculty ask during the interview? Thank you! Also, Congrats to everyone on the interview letters! I hope to meet you all soon in Seattle.

Hi rivercat,

Would you mind share your interview question with us? Thanks

Hey guys!

Sorry to reply so late!

The interview was very quick, it only took about 15-20 minutes. They interviewed about 126 people and only accepted 80 into the program.

The interview was done by 2 faculty. For me it was one professor and one advisor.

They asked about why I wanted to become a nurse and why I wanted to attend Seattle University.

I recommend that you familiarize yourself with the mission statement at Seattle U and have a genuine response as to why you want to be a nurse..not just "I want to help people", this is your chance to express yourself as an individual so don't be afraid to get personal.

Also come prepared with any questions you have about the program or the school (i.e. student government, extra curriculars, etc.)

It's okay to be nervous and in fact I think they expect that you will be. I recommend practicing by completing a "mock" interview with a friend or family member, that way you already have an idea of the topics you want to bring up during the real interview.

I hope this helps!

Do you guys know if the interview is the only thing contingent on our admission at this point? Or do they go through the whole application again after the interview?

My Interview is this Friday! I am very nervous and excited! Good luck to everyone during the process!

Thanks so much for such a detailed response rivercat! That definitely eased my nerves slightly!

My interview is this Friday also! I'm flying into Seattle on Thursday and staying with my friend who goes to UW! I'm so nervous but so excited! Good luck to you all!

Hello Everyone,

I have my interview on March 1st and was wondering if anyone has any feed back from there interview yet? As far as questions and any tips on how to dress for this interview i wasn't sure lol i want to dress professional just want sure

thanks for any feedback

How do you like the program? SU is my number one school :) i have my interview March 1st and i am excited :)

I am really enjoying the program! SU has such small classes, which really helps individualize the learning atmosphere, and I'm able to meet with my professors on a consistent and timely basis. The CPL (where we do our practicing at Swedish Cherry Hill) is amazing and the SIM lab is so much fun. The only downside is the cost of SU, thankfully they have great scholarships for transfer students without a prior bachelors degree and plenty of opportunities for additional financial aid..but it is still pricey (but definitely worth it!). Be sure to tell your interviewers that SU is your number one choice, I think having a passion for the school you want to go to certainly is important to mention in the interview! GOOD LUCK !!
