Seattle Children's Nursing Residency Program February 2025

Published

Hi I wanted to create a thread for the Seattle Children's residency program in February. I know there were issues with the application at first and I submitted right after it got fixed, got my phone screening invite the same day.

Just wanted to see where everyone's at and any advice! It's my first time applying and I'm in California but I graduated from wsu's program this past may.

Good luck!

Did you receive the phone screen at all? I had my phone screen but am wondering how long in between if you get an interview or not. I wasn't sure if they send rejection emails or you just never hear back. Definitely apply again for next cohort! I might have to do the same

Hi! You had a phone screening but not an interview? I had a phone screening as well, and at the end of the call I was able to schedule an interview. What was your experience like?

I still haven't heard anything. Do you know if they're done with interviews?

I'm not entirely sure. I had my interview on Tuesday so they might've been doing interviews all this week. Maybe check your application status to see if it updated. Mine still says "in process", not too sure when I'll hear back.

What unit was this for? I also had a phone screen but no interview. I was told they would let us know in 1-3 weeks if we got an interview or not after the nurse manager reviewed our screening.

This was for the NICU! What unit did you apply for?

Ahhh okay, I also applied for NICU. My application still says in process, but probably not good news if they are already interviewing. Did they mention when you can expect to hear back?

No phone screening. I wonder if they compare resumes or what and weed out as they go

Can I ask if you all that had phone screenings have previous nursing experience, or if you are new grads, are you graduating from a BSN or an associates program?

They just said within a week, so maybe by tomorrow

I have only a few months of RN experience! Graduated with my BSN in May, started working in a pediatric subacute facility since September. I also had my senior preceptorship in a level 4 NICU, so that may have helped my application.

This was my second time applying, got rejected again. Second time around I was working as a pediatric private duty nurse, I did my senior preceptorship in a Level 3 NICU. BSN student from out of state.

Ugh I'm so sorry. Hang in there and keep trying. It's so tough to even talk to someone from SC and ask basic questions that aren't on FAQs. I had been reaching out through email and did not get a response a single time. Unfortunately I can't afford to wait for the next application cycle (and risk being rejected again) so I'll have to go somewhere else for residency 😔
