I live in WA state and am looking for a part-time LPN program in washington or Idaho. I can't seem to find any! Any information would be great. I have a baby and can't commit to a full-time program. I'd like to complete LPN school so that the door will be opened to enroll in online RN/BSN programs. Thanks!
:wink2:
As a side note, I have also been looking for an online option for LPN school...has anyone ever found one?

I know how it is to have a little one at home and go to school, i just started on Wednesday and it feels like i havent seen him in forever! It does take away alot of time....not even just school hours, but also, the homework and time spent studying are just so consuming. I prepared myself for it though and spoke to all my family and asked if they could step in every once and while and take my son out or even just spend time with him, so he doesnt feel emitionally abandoned. I figure, we will have our whoel lives together so i know its aweful that i reallly am not gonna be there for him during these 10 months, I am making our lifes better from graduation on. So just prepare yourself, my best advise.
I am going full time...but they do have a parttime(evenings i believe) program at my school also. I wouldnt specifically look for a "part time LPN course" if for example you are using a search engine to search...Id look for a full time then go on to see if there is a part time program. I dont think i have ever heard of an LPN course online. Maybe you can go into the region section and then go into your state and ask to find a program.

I have 2 children at home and a husband who works odd hours. Daycare is going to be impossible if his shift does not change, but we are going to figure out a way to make it work. We have to. Why? I am determined to start my career after being at home for so many years, and there are no part time schools anywhere near me. In fact, I've never heard of one. I'm sorry that I cannot be of more help.
I would love to just mentally prepare and attend an "in-class" program, but if you've ever lived in western washington you know how the traffic is...on top of commuting at least 1.5 hours EACH way every day for school (and all the nursing schools around here are 40 hours/week), my husband and I own two businesses that I help run as well as we are landlords to a couple properties. Our businesses and household would be in shambles if I was away from the house from 6:30am until night time. I am lucky that I am not going to nursing school for the money, I am going because I have dreamed of being a nurse my whole life. With that in mind I'm not willing to take a year away from my daughter's life and sacrifice a healthy marriage to follow my dream...I think if I needed the money it would be different. I think what I'll do is keep looking for a part-time or online school. If anyone finds an online LPN school pass on the info!
