New to the forum (thanks for your welcomes in advance). I am having trouble finding the best accreditated medical assistant schools here in Atlanta. I have a list of accredidated schools but dont know which one has the best program. Can anyone help a brother out?PublicAtlanta Technical CollegeChattahoochee Technical CollegeDekalb Technical CollegeGwinnett Technical CollegePrivateEverest Institute MariettaMedix School SmyrnaSanford Brown InstituteWestwood CollegeBrown Mackie CollegeAbove you'll find all the accredidated schools that I have found. Out of the private ones, which one is the best. It seems with public schools they have waiting list and I am soooo ready to get into school NOW but dont want to make the wrong choice in schools (plus I dont have the gas to drive to all of these schools to hear some scripted reason as to why I should attend their school). So any information so that I can start, finish, and get a job would greatly be helpful.
GinaCK 3 Posts May 31, 2009 hi, i have the same question - specifically, chattahoochee technical college and medixboth seem to have quality programs, but then, i don't know how to evaluate/compare, as i do not know what the "gold standard" is. it would be great to know how the industry views the education each school offers. please let me know if you hear anything, i will do same-good luck, gina

It is a great school. They also have some of the best teachers!!!! Just from my experience, private schools cost more money. I suggest Gwinett tech. Good luck!
GinaCK 3 Posts Jun 1, 2009 Hi Morte, Hee hee, no problem... I am considering changing careers - from corporate office professional to a trade (health) skill. While researching options, Medical Assistant was a skill that kept popping up, so I went with that. That was yesterday... I have since (one hour ago!) spoken with the folks at Chattahoochee Tech about their Nursing program. I have found my new path. A career in nursing has much more appeal to me than a job as an MA. This would be completely new to me, any advice, suggestions? Thanks.
