Scripps New Grad Residency Jan/March 2018

Published

Hey everyone! Just wanted to get a page going to help each other out with the process at Scripps!

During the interview, were you guys asked if working night shift is ok? And did anyone get a reply back to your thank you emails?

During the new grad program we do not have a choice for day or night shift. On that piece of paper that was handed out on interview day it states you start on day, go to night, then back on days.

I was asked about how I feel about working the night shift. I had 3 panel members, I got a reply from one of them.

What panel Did you interview with? You got a reply from an email?

I interviewed with La Jolla. The reply was in regards to the thank you email I had sent, she replied with a simple thank you message.

I interviewed with the DEU panel of three people on the 24th, Anyone else who interviewed, what did you think of the interview process? I found the questions very close-ended and had trouble working in clinical experiences. I also felt like they were fairly disengaged and just listening for key words. I'm just wondering if I had a bad interview or if others felt the same :) Still no word back!

I also interviewed with the DEU on the 24th. During the whole interview , they looked through my whole portfolio. I thought they were doing that to be less intimidating lol! I couldn't get a good read on how they felt though

It was the opposite for me! They looked at my portfolios right away and then asked me around 20 questions rapid fire right after the next and then at the end they all handed my the portfolios back which confused me..I thought they were supposed to keep them?! Anyways the person who asked me the question made eye contact the whole time and while the other panel members took notes. It was a little intense but everybody was very nice and responsive to my answers by nodding their heads etc. I was so nervous, this was my first nursing interview so I honestly have no idea how it went. I thought I was answering the questions but of course when I got back to the car I was questioning everything I had said!

Interesting! Only one of the interviewers glanced through my portfolio, near the end. They took turns asking questions and they all three took notes the whole time, which was kind of disconcerting. I felt like I was talking to myself. They gave me the portfolio back too.

Were you with the non DEU La Jolla panel? Sounds like they got this rapid fire round of questions

Yes, I interviewed for Encinitas.
