Scripps Healthcare New Grad Residency Program 2011, has anyone received a interview invitation?

Specializes in Couplet Care/Newborn Nursery.

Nicrn7: I have my interview tomorrow at 4:30 as well!! See you there!

I am so nervous because I don't know what to expect. This will be my third interview since graduating nursing school in December. Hopefully someone who had their interview today will give us some insight!

How is the interview process? group interview? how many candidates did they select? does any one know?.

You all will do great! Good luck to every one!

Specializes in postpartum, newborn, geriatric/LTC.

Y'allHirin (I love your name, having gone to nursing school at Duke in NC...) :

I've been looking since December. This is my *first* interview out of 100+ apps.

LDrnWNB: Did anything happen from your first two interviews? I'm trying to get a sense of what it means to get an interview. Some have said you're basically golden but they just want a sense of you as a person; some seem to say you're still just part of a much larger pool. Any idea? Does it just vary by hospital? I'm spending a few hundred dollars I don't really have on this very desirable chance...

ok sarahLT, good luck! HR must be bored posting all the open positions without hirin!

I didn't apply to Scripps but I did have two interviews as well, at UCSF and Stanford. I wouldn't say you are golden in this market. They are narrowing it down I would imagine. At Stanford I was 1 of almost 70 people out of over 900 applicants to get an interview but there were only 12 positions and at UCSF I was 1 of 5 interviewed out of 200 applicants for 2 spots. It definitely means you are 1 step closer but there is definitely no guarantee! Good luck!

Frida I have an interview Tuesday at 530pm too. I wish I knew which dept I was being interviewed for. Well I guess I will find out once I get there. I havent had much experience with interviews. Not sure what to expect.

I believe medical acute, surgical acute, oncology, ED. Not sure what other depts. Looks like we will only have one interview.

I just arrived to the San Diego area, I am nervous and cant relax. I am preparing for the interview!:uhoh3:

I forgot which ones I listed as my preferences CCU, Medical/telemetry, Oncology??? I don't remember..

Specializes in postpartum, newborn, geriatric/LTC.

Frida, same here!

I don't remember what I said I wanted either, or any of my answers to those questions about 'your ideal workplace', 'how your coworkers view you', etc....

You MUST CHILL ;) (to quote John Cusack's 80s teen classic, Say Anything).

Easier said than done.

I'll be in SD by ~ 10am tomorrow.

Specializes in Telemetry.

did all of you who got an interview have a BSN? Just curious if it's even worth it for me to apply to the next one since I only have a associate.

Thank you and good luck to all of you!!!!!!

Hey there,

I just arrived to San Diego from San Jose, CA. The drive was pretty long! :) I just thought I would jump on here to introduce myself and wish everyone the best of luck on their interviews. My interview is on Wednesday afternoon. Reading the posts thus far, it seems that most of us are having our first interviews this week! With that said, I just want to extend some positive vibes to you all and thank you for the support. :)

dienne: I don't have a BSN and was offered an interview. I am still deciding (I need to decide tonight) if I will go to the interview tomorrow. I am enrolled in an entry level masters program so I am not sure if that matters. I would still apply! It doesn't hurt to apply :)

Specializes in Family.

I am an entry level master program too :) Just finished w the pre-licensure in December, and now in the market looking for jobs. I don't have a BSN, hopefully it doesn't matter much! Will know this Wednesday...

dienne: I think it wouldn't hurt to apply. Schools still offer ADN because the degree is still needed. Good luck to your Job Search!

Congrats! I have my interview on Tues too at 530 pm, not sure why sooo late... I am hoping to find more information. The email is not very specific at all. I haven't had many interviews any advice is welcomed:D

My interview is at 330pm today also. I agree that the email is not specific. We have a schedules time, but first come first serve?..

Good Luck to everyone!
