If you passed the NCLEX and used study materials (i.e. Kaplan, Saunders, Mosbys...). What kind of scores were you getting on your review tests?

I have been told that I should be getting at least 75% of test questions correct to feel confident.

Is this true?

Does this matter?

How long did you study and how many questions did you complete prior to taking your NCLEX?

My scores are varying between 70 and 80.

Hey there....my scores were in the mid 70's to low 80's on Saunders, Kaplan, ATI etc. But I do have to say it's less about the scores and more about getting exposed to as many rational's as possible.....do as many questions as you can fit in. I did roughly 100-200/day for 2.5 weeks after graduation.....

Hi,

I just passed the Nclex this past week. It sounds like you are on the right track getting 70-80% on the practice tests. My biggest advice is to keep doing the questions and keeping them in that range.

Before the test I did about 5000-6000 questions, getting scores ranging 50-60% to start. After a while I was able to get my practice scores up to around 75%. I took a review course and my instructor told us to keep the questions up until we got at least a 70% on 2000 questions consistently.

I took my questions from all different sources. Mosby, Saunders, Lippencott, and Kaplan. The Kaplan Nclex review book is pretty helpful because it shows how you can breakdown the nclex questions. I also splurged and got the Mosby CAT test online and found that to be a good indicator as to where I was. A confidence booster at least. I started out getting 82% of passing and got up to 99% chance before my test. What I had started to do was to re-read info from my notes and from the review books which got to be overwhelming. I found that by doing questions reading the rationals for the ones I missed, and even the ones that I got right was the best for me. It gave me the info I needed in little shots. Made it easier for me to remember.

I hope this helps. I think you are on the right track. Keep up those questions and I'm sure you'll do fine. Good Luck
