Highest science i completed in school 15 years ago was earth science. I took no biology or chemistry. Will i be able to be taught chemistry/human anatomy and physiology starting fresh with no background?

Anything is possible! LOL In all seriousness, I had a hard time with A&P, and really needed to focus and study it. If you are thinking of taking the TEAS test, I would get a prep book, and look at the material, and get tutored if you need to.

I also had a little more time out of school, and when I was in high school, my dreeeeammmmm was to get married and have babies so I took the lightest course load feasible. Which in "those days" was a real scant amount of work.

I was tutored and it paid off well. Good luck!

The community college I went to made me take a 5 credit biology class because I didn't take it in HS. It took a semester, and I actually enjoyed it! I think it helped in my A&P classes too. For LPN we were not required to take chemistry, which is a big reason I went for LPN vs RN. Each school is different though. Believe me though, the time flies! I thought it would take forever to complete my program but it took me 2.5 years (including my prerequisites, petitioning process, and core classes). That's me starting college with just a GED and going part-time up until my core classes. Good Luck!

I flunked HS bio twice before they just passed me with a D to prevent me from not graduating. Science literally made me cry every night over homework.

When I decided to apply for nursing school and had to take anatomy & phys 1 and 2 as prereqs, I was scared but I plunged in anyway. I studied HARD. I stashed flash cards everywhere...I even whipped them out in between tables at the cafe I worked at. And I got A's...in both classes AND the labs. In fact, twice I got the highest exam grade in the class...to my utter astonishment! Out of 230 students! I had no natural "head" for science and still don't. I just WANTED it. Bad. So I discovered there's a world of difference between the 16 year old me who hated school and had no clue what I wanted out of life, and the 35 year old me who definitely had a purpose and direction. And wasn't going to let a science class stand in my way.
