Mercy College of Ohio was established as a nursing school in 1918. The heritage of the Sisters of Mercy continues to prepare students to become educated, competent nurses. The college is a private, non-profit institution.
Mercy Health sponsors Mercy College through the land-based and online classes in a variety of fields. The legacy sponsorship was inspired by the Sisters of Mercy, the Sisters of Charity of Montréal (Grey Nuns), and the Sisters of Humility of Mary.
Undergraduate
ASN Nursing Day
The foundation of the course is a blend of critical thinking and caring. Mercy College prepares students to work directly with patients and physicians as a Registered Nurse (RN). The program is five semesters in length and is an on-campus program.
ASN Nursing Evening/Weekend
All classes are held during evenings and weekends. The on-campus program is in Toledo, OH. Coursework is in the evening and clinical component is on weekends. The program is seven semesters in length.
ASN Nursing Day - Youngstown
The Youngstown campus holds the program and is located at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. The program is five semesters in length and located on campus.
ASN Evening/Weekend Nursing Program - Youngstown
Classes are held in the evenings and on weekends. Coursework is the evenings and clinical component on weekends.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Prelicensure
The program at Mercy College of Ohio is held on campus in Toledo. BSN graduates are eligible to pursue advanced degrees.
RN-BSN Nursing Online Completion
The online RN to BSN degree program is designed for those who already hold an RN license. It provides RNs with an undergraduate degree that focuses on professional development, leadership and management skills; all in a convenient format. The program is entirely online for the Nursing core courses. Full-time students can complete the program in one year.
Graduate
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program is a program that is aligned with the Essentials of Master's Education in Nursing identified by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). The program is 36 credits in length and designed for online learners with the exception of the practicum experiences that will be completed at locations geographically close to students. The program may be completed in six semesters. Within the semesters, they are broken down into eight week sessions. Students take one course at a time, with the exception of the Capstone II course that runs the entire semester. The Master of Science in Nursing program must be completed within five years from the first semester of enrollment through degree completion.

Mercy College of Ohio is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission.
The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program at Mercy College of Ohio has not received accreditation as of this writing. It is pending by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). NOTE: Applying for accreditation does not guarantee that accreditation will be granted.
The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program (BSN) at Mercy College of Ohio.
