Do Navy nurses need to go to special schools like there are A schools?

Not that I heard of when I was considering Navy Nurse Corps. They did require a BSN from an accredited school.

Once you graduate and recieve your BSN, unless you were a part of the ROTC program, you will attend Officer Indoctrination School in Newport, RI and then follow on to the hospital where you will be assigned.

Sandman's on this one, just need to do OIS. If you want to further your education down the road, you can attend DUINS for your master's. I'm heading for DUINS this FAll.

Petty question, but if you're in the Navy Nurse Candidate program on Navy money, and you haven't been to OIS yet, when you graduate college do you technically commission, or do they make you wait until you have been to OIS? I'm just trying to compare to like my friends in Marine PLC...except that they have been to at least a portion of their training. Also, when you're in the scholarship program, do they make you sign on w/the Reserves?
