Have y'all heard about the fake degree scandal in Florida? Over 7,600 degrees handed out for a cash price..?

I do know in this state which is the state of Virginia there are bridge programs at community colleges like where I went that will give the nurse credit for being a LPN and may mean can do it quicker. Not sure if there is one there. Usually on the state BON website has approved programs. Sometimes there is a time lag when investigating programs and I know of other programs that were in trouble because they had students attending classes at times without having a teacher. I have a friend who went to a LPN school that did that and she found out classes were not accepted by the state BON. So there are lots of scams as they recognize these sorts of things bring them lots of money. They appear very legit but they try to not follow the rules.
So you say you got an ATT and did not pass on the first time. Is this a real ATT or not? Perhaps you should contact your Board of Nursing to see what is what. Also was it one of the schools found to be doing illegal stuff? If you did not actually get your RN nor act as one then you are probably okay but call the BON of nursing and see what they say. I do not think you should be in trouble if they were not following rules as you did what you did in good faith. Sorry this happened. There are so many people out there just trying to scam folks for the almighty buck. It is a sad but true situation. Take care and if you need help or advice just send me a message. I have been a RN since 1990 and have mentored lots of folks. Good luck.
There is so much misinformation. But yes I got my ATT but failed but there are students that passed working. I'm so frustrated and annoyed, my LPN is 26 years old from Board of Cooperative Education Service BOCES, Im good there. I got pulled off patient care yesterday bc of my involvement I never worked as RN nor did I pretend to be what I'm not. I will call ny NCSBN to find out my options and not make emotional decisions based on fear. Thank you for all

You should be fine as long as you didn't 'buy' a diploma. You just going to the school shouldn't be a problem. If you didn't do anything dishonest, your LVN license shouldn't be affected.
As far as my understanding went they what issued real ATT from the State board of nursing until the fraud started to be uncovered.
They are still people who went to the school they are still working as RNs
There is even one girl is an LPN from a legitimate School went to the RN school got her ATT passed her boards in New York would not release her license so she got a license in Florida which is a multi-state and she does traveling nurses as an RN in other states and works as an LPN in New York so currently she's working under two licenses
New York state board of nurses told her that if she goes to an accredited school as a registered nurse and graduates they will release her license to practice in New York
She is currently in school right now as we speak

Thank you .

They are scrutinizing previous license as well
I still think you are okay as to the LPN license and sounds like you did not actually pass the board or get the RN license. I mistakenly put in another answer you should be in trouble but I meant you should not be as you acted in good faith. I agree with delrion as to what was said in that post.
I'm amazed it took them this long to investigate all this. It's pathetic but I'm not surprised. My state board of nursing is pretty bad and do what I'd consider to do a subpar job. You email them asking for a specific question and you'll get a reply back with 3 different ***ing answers and not one of them answers your initial question. So no, I'm not surprised and it is Florida after all.

I did not pass but I was pulled off the nursing floor and will be under investigation for 120 at which time my employer can still decide to terminate
