Schoolcraft college NET test

Published

Hi,

I am taking the NET test soon at Schoolcraft College and am wondering if anyone can tell me how many math problems/how many minutes are on it.

I am working through the study guides and would like to be as prepared as possible. I've been guessing 30 problems in 30 minutes. ???

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Thank you,

Hi there. I took the NET at Schoolcraft in Fall 2005. Unfortunately I can not answer your question as far as how many math questions and the length of time you're given. I can tell you that all sections of the test are timed. I think (if I can remember correctly), there is either approx 30 seconds to a minute per question, per section. I do know that you're only scored on what you answer and you're not penalized for what you don't answer. That's the way our test proctor explained it to us. She also said don't freak out if you don't finish the sections. I hope this little bit of info regarding the test helps you. Honestly it's not a really scary test by any means. It has basic math and some algebra, some reading comprehension and reading recall. Good luck and be blessed!

Hi,

I can't quite recall how much time you receive for the math portion, but it is QUITE generous compared to the # of problems and their range of difficulty. I had lots of time left; I want to say 20-30 minutes! That is with double checking everything.

The math test is not hard at all. I remember thinking the problems were the level of the 6th grade math homework I was helping my daughter with at the time.

You need to know how to do percentages and ratio:proportion problems. That little blue and white book one needs to prepare for the NET has all you will need to prepare for the test. You will not run out of time.

The reading test, however, is VERY tight on time, IMHO. I was scurrying tho finish that one. Be sure you have a clear idea of what the concepts in that study book mean for a reading selection. Watch your time answering the questions; the time just seemed to slip by on that portion of the test.

Good luck, and let us know how you did!! Your reaction will be interesting!

Math was 30m questions in about 30 - 40 minutes.....more than enough time. Only a few truly challenging questions in Algebra...mostly basics including fractions and ratios.

Definitely watch the reading and FULLY understand the concept of the questions being asked.

Pay very close attention to instruction and don't do anything until instructed.

Remember to breath and you will do fine......:wink2:
