School nurse question

Hi Nurses-

i am in Mass and just applied for a substitute nurse position. I have my ADN and no experience as a nurse.. I wanted to try school nursing and was wondering if you need experience to work as a full time school nurse? BSN? Did you get hired with just an ADN? Thanks!

This is my 20th year with an ADN as a School Nurse in Mo/the good ole Show-Me State. I think I will stay :)
