Well I was taking pre-reqs for Nursing... That was put on hold this past February when I found out I was preggo wt my 2nd child [first is going to be 10 the 27th of this month.] I haven't been on here in a while and was just checking it out again- feeling a lil bummed. My bff just started classes back for the same thing... And I want so much to be in school. But I am so happy that I am having another lil girl. I just hope I can get back into the swing of things really soon. Any encouragement from ppl who have been there would be great... So much is happening all at once its kinda stressful. I'm due november 14th, but am already dilated at 1cm. And we are trying to move before the 1st of the year when the lease is up. We were planning a wedding -this past July but that got put on hold too. It just seems like my life is a big hold button right now. lol Anyway I just needed to vent a little and to be encouraged. Thanks for listening. :loveya:

I know how you feel. I was planning on going back to school for nursing and a month later I found out I was pregnant, I then also lost my job and had to find a new one...it was a crazy time. But everything happens for a reason. It wasn't the right time and I wouldn't take back having my little girl here now. I started back to school 2 months after she was born...only taking one online class, then the next semester took 2 classes, the 2 the next...now I'm finally ready and accepted into the spring semester of the nursing program at my school. I'm still waiting on my job to say if they'll let me go part time, if they don't I won't be able to start in January either. But if that happens, I know it's just not the right time yet again. Doesn't mean that I won't be very disappointed though!
Anyways, just keep your head up. You will get there...even if it takes a little bit longer! Just keep your focus and enjoy your new little girl!

i agree with kayty2339. i am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. take this time to plan when would be the earliest you can realisticly get back in school. find out when the next couple of start dates are and have everything lined up and ready to go. my daughter was 13 when we had our second little girl. i don't know if it's because i'm alittle older now, but i really enjoyed the second time around. i have more patience and things aren't that serious. i jsut got back in the swing of things this past august and my little sunshine is 2 yrs old. it is heartbreaking sometimes because i can't spend as much time with her as i want to, but i put everything on hold for my first child and this time around i'm gonna get it out of the way before life gets in the way of my goals. just hang in there, because before you know it, you'll be back in school. good luck to you.

I may have to put my plan on hold for one year, just because of money and financial reasons. But I just keep telling myself that will mean I will be that much more ready (lol) when the time comes!!! :)
Good luck!

I had been planning to start nursing prerequisites two years ago!! Then...life happened and here I am getting ready to start prerequisites next semester. :)
It will all work out eventually. The world will always need nurses, and your family is more important than work.

I put my on hold 2 other times so I guess the third time was a charm because after this semester I only have 4 pre reqs and am hoping to start the nursing program in the Fall of 2010. First time was right after I got married was 25 (1995) and found out a few months later I was pregnant, finished that semester and life went on. Had another child and continued to work and at that time decided I just wasn't ready to return to school. Tried to return to school again in 2006 but that didn't go well either just wasn't the right time I guess. Finally, at 38 I started my first pre reqs and a year later now at age 39 have only 4 left. It took me a while to get here but it was was worth the wait. I think because of my age I am more focused and try harder, my kids are older 10 and 13 so don't need their mom as much and they know I am in school so are really good about letting me study. Sometimes it can take us a while to get where we are going but if we want it bad enough we will get there....
Good Luck!!
Thank ya'll so much for all the responses and encouragement and it is def nice knowing that I am not the only one who has been through it or is going through it. I have another Dr's appt Thursday- I will be 36 weeks this Friday. Hopefully this baby will be here soon, I'm contracting quite a bit and have been having so much lower back pain and pelvic pain and pressure... But I am praying for her to be healthy and to come when she is ready! :loveya: And I know it all happens for a reason. I know I will get there when the time is right and start classes when I am supposed to. Thanks again so much!!! :heartbeat
