This is ridiculous, my school is allowing anyone to retake the TEAS test because of 'atypical testing situations.' my school only allows testing once a year...this is totally unfair for those of us who scored well and studied very hard...now these people who do not deserve it are allowed extra study time and another attempt..and may possibly score better than me. My score is an 87.6, and i passed all the sections with flying colors. should i be happy with my score? my school isnt TOO competitive, 125 tested and there are 60 spots. this is so unfair, i was content with my score and now im worried again. should i retake the test as well? i really dont think i could do any better. advice please :(((

if your school isn't too competitive I probably wouldn't worry about it. in my school it seems the average score accepted is anywhere from 85-90 on the TEAS. but an 88 is a really good score you should be proud!!

then again I got an 85, and am taking it again just to be safe. i heard you get the same exact questions on the second test, so there is only room to get better :)

thanks caffeine! that makes me feel so much better. at the time i took my test i was in the 96th percentile for the nation and 99% for my program. idk how much thats changed since a week ago? i hope its good enough =/

What's the TEAS test? I did the HESI exam to get into nursing school and I got a 87%. Is the test similar? I feel that nursing schools are letting their standards drop as over half of my class who started NS with me has failed. I don't think it's good to let people retake exams!

I have heard of the HESI but i dont know how similar they are. My school started with the HOBET then went to the Kaplan and now this is the first year using the TEAS. ive heard its a lot easier.

If they take the higher of the two scores, why not re-take it? If the second score stands regardless of whether it is higher or lower, then I'd leave it alone....87.6% is a good score! Worst case, you get some more test taking practice.

No, they are not taking the better of the 2 scores. you must discard your entire first score and take whatever you get on your second try...scary. I feel very lucky to have gotten that 87, so i have to stick with it.

Is the TEAS only required for certian schools? I ask b/c I was recently accepted in to a fall BSN program soley based on my GPA and credits. I am not aware of any other testing required before being admitted and am curious if this different for each school and each program?

Thanks

I got an 86.5% and am completely happy with my score! I would never want to go through that test again. Although basic in principle, it was pretty torturous!

must be, i always thought you had to pass some kind of test to get into a nursing school. There are many different tests, hesi, teas, kaplan, hobet, net. theres a lot, each school decides which one it wants to use.
