Stop studying. Put your books away. You know all you can at this time. Quit trying to cram more into your brain.
Take some time for relaxation. Do something diversionary - movies, a concert, ice skating - anything not remotely nursing related.
The night before your exam, lay your clothes out, and set at least 2 different alarms so you wake up on time.
Best wishes, and let us know how you did.
I was averaging about 75% on my practice tests. I did not bother opening any books anymore. I just keep reading the rationale of each right answer when I review the questions. I picked up a lot that way. I took my test Feb 3 and it stopped at 75 questions. I checked last Monday and I passed!
I have my test tuesday Feb. 14th adn it is safe to say I am scared to death. Please let me know if anyone else is having or has had the same problems I do with the practice test's I take, no mater what I do I can't get above 68% (and the tests are different lengths). The questions that are my downfall are the "all that apply" questions they will cause me to fail if I get to many of them!! I cannot figure out these questions to save my life. I have tried the true and false method - didn't work, I have read and re-ead the questions and one answer at a time and still no good.
I know every I am a doom and gloom person here but I am tired of everyone saying "you'll do fine" they dont know how I am freaking out over this test. When I see these practice test grades come out the way they do, it is safe to say my confidence is at an all time low.
So please any tips with these stupid all that apply question's, and input on the scores I get practice wise would help.
Try to relax your tension....Nclex can be tricky but not that serious.
1. little trick to SATA quest..--> think and try to group options, there is definatly one or more that is not related to the question.
2. Prioritization...> think ABC and safety first.
3.Delegation--> Think stable vs unstable, acute vs chronic.
once you know how to apply these technique you will get more questions right...
Goodluck!
Good luck on your exam next week and keep us posted. But like you, I'm also quite worried with this SATA and ordered response questions, I just can't perfect them. But I'm always super close.
I guess I need more and more practice with them. I'm also planning a day or two which I can just sit down and answer nothing but alternate-format questions. =)
