Say It Isn't So

Hello everyone,

I received some really bad news about the pay scale in SOME hospitals in the houston area. I'm a nurse with a combine experience of 5years. I was an LPN for 6 and now a RN for 2 years. HCA facilities say that they will credit me 3 years of my LPN. So that means that I have 5 years RN experience. Tell Me with 5 years experience, how can they only offer me 26.90/h:madface:. The most that another HCA facility is willing to pay me is 28/h. And yes, I am aware that the cost of living is cheaper. BUT STILL, how can this be? I spoke to someone at BT and they told me that my hourly may be 33/h with 5 years experience. Why is there such a big difference.

All input wellcomed

Thanks

Commuter wasn't that far off Bentaub and LBJ will pay around 30-33 an hour but the RN to patient patio is from 5-1 sometimes 6-1 and you are always short supplies with tons of patients and have to deal with Residents who constantly cause problems due to inexperience> they pay that an hour so they can be competitive with hermann and methodist type hospitals. Hermann requires much more education/experience to be a lvl 3 4 or 5 nurse under better ratios 4-1 with more supplies and a sane level of acuity. This has been according to what I see in the emergency rooms at both LBJ and hermann at least. (input from many nurses who told me not to go with hermann because they are stingy on pay.) So ask about patient ratios and what kind of patients you will be getting or your 33 an hour will not make up for having your license in danger when you get slammed and make an error because of listening to a resident (MD). IMHO
