Saunders vs. Kaplan

Hi Friends,

I have a question. I've been scoring 70-80% on Saunders 4/ed assessments & quizzes But I scored less than 50% on Kaplan's Strategy book on just the first 10 questions. I am really upset. The questions are much tougher than Saunders and their logic is convoluted, bizarre and just wierd on some of the que's. I only took the 1st 10 que's and I need to do alot more.,

Should I be studying something else, like Kaplans own NCLEX compr. review or are Saunders que's good enough?

Thanks!

Kaplan is supposed to be the best...even better than Hurst. I have both. Well, Saunders, Kaplan, Prentice Hall, and Hurst. Kaplan is what I used to review for HESI- RN Exit exam and I scored in the 1000's (850+ required). It has been said that HESI is a good indicator of NCLEX...I hope so!!!! Thanks Kaplan.

My question is, Have I wasted my time with Saunders (I've spent 12 weeks studying Saunders Compr Nclex review 63 chap's & 1,500 questions.

2nd question, Did you use the Kaplan Strategies for RN book, (short book) or the Kaplan compr. review same as Saunders review. Which Kaplan book did u use?

tHANK u!

Kaplan is definitely confusing, from what I have heard Saunders is highly effective. Depends on if you like to be constantly told your are wrong (Kaplan). Or if you just want to know what the important parts are (Saunders). Kaplan says scoring 60% is good. Never mind what that does to somebody's self esteem or nerves. Nobody wants to see 60% before taking the NCLEX.
