Hello Everybody,
I kindly ask if somebody have a recent experience in working in SA.
They are evaluating my profile and say the salary is going to be taxes-free
But I think that as soon as I get back to Canada-Toronto, my income will be taxable.
Am I right?
I have a 7-year old daugther and husband.
They tell me that eventually they may come with me.
Any comment?
Thanks in.advance
Adela
Speak to HR, I think you should factor in loss of your current job, loss of union seniority and the fact that other nurses who have resigned have taken years to regain fulltime positions in Toronto. If you factor in the reality of returning to work in Ontario, you will see that you will lose more than you will gain by to going to work in SA. It will also disrupt your family's stability, read between the lines when a recruiter tells you that your family may eventually join you in SA (it will take years, if ever). Nurses are not valued professionals in SA, they are replaceable servants.
Dishes,
I agree with you, they can (have to) replace me for one year and then i will come back.
First I have to make sure if the contract outside is 6 months or 1 year.
The agency guy did not specify the time of the contract.
I will let you know.
Do employers grant a LOA to go to work another place?
I am awared that leaving a full time job is not the best option
I will accept this offer only if I get a LOA, that will not affect my current position. I will consult to the UNION
Of I go, it will notbe more than a year. They also talk about returning twice for vacation.
I really have to review the contract when it comes.

You can ask, but my guess is, your employer will refuse to grant a LOA. They have nothing to gain by replacing your position for one year while you go to another job.
