Tweety glad you got some more sleep

Stars glad you got a break from her today

Ado I typically try and avoid recipes with unusual ingrediants

NJ22 hope the insurance issue was resolved

Dianah glad it was cooler

Work was good yesterday, quite slow.  Had time to complete a CEU and finish the appetizer for the potluck and help out at the end of the day

The potluck seemed to be a bit lower attendance than normal. Was at a very large Frank Lloyd Wright home.  Started outside but most people moved inside due to an abundance of mosquitoes.  My friend B and his friend D were there, as well as some other people I knew

Was going to do bird watching, but it's going to rain/storm all morning so that is out.  Not sure what I'll do instead.  Will be having lunch with dad as usual today

Will be a little cooler today, up to about 80

82 degrees and sunny, only 50% humidity, and zero chance of rain.

Had to watch a different channel for the network news last night, since there was a football game on our usual news station. And while we were watching, they played an ad for their own news and weather.....and I saw their female weather lady was named (can you believe this?) MAJESTIC STORM. I mean, what else could she do but go into meteorology? I also saw, somewhere, a female whose last name was KOTEK, and groaned because I know what her classmates called her all through elementary and high school. That'd be tough to tolerate, and after a while, aggravating, and then boring and tedious to hear.

Tinker does sniff-sniff-sniff the ground, especially where deer or a cat has walked, but she actually is more observant of the tree trunks and branches.....every time I take her out, she has to stop and look from the bottom of the trunk, upwards and then across the branches. If there is nothing there that she can see, she goes to her next tree-observation spot,  Doesn't often see much, but she still has to stop and look. I've never before had a dog that does this, and she is consistent in her inspections. She also stands on her back legs to look over the rise at the front of our yard, to look across the street at the neighbors houses. Like I keep saying, it is soooo cute when she does these things!

I finally washed the heap of dishes in the kitchen sink (just about 15 minutes ago) and am currently waiting for my laundry to go through the cycles. Once it is ready to go into the dryer, yes, sadly, there is yet another basket full of Nannie clothes. And I have to empty the trash from her bathroom and bedroom every single day now. Do you have any idea how HEAVY a 30-gallon trash bag is when filled with a mucho-grande number of pads, pull-ups, and wet chux? One of these days I am going to put the bag on the scale. It may not even be 20 pounds, but  lugging it upstairs and out to the trash bin, it seems like 50 pounds!

May just putter around today; I have a stack of cardboard boxes to break down with my box-cutter. And the ever-present collection of things to shred......so much that the last time I brought it to one of the mailing/boxing/etc places and the price they quoted for the weight of the bag was outrageous! So that is why I am going through it and cutting out all the areas with my name and address, AND all the squiggly boxes called ...what? Give me a second to think of it..... BAR-CODES! I don't trust them not to have my info exposed when they are clicked on and go to....where-ever....either to get more info or to order something. I am also thinking of deleting one of the sites I go to to read political stuff, because I have made a lot of, shall we say, "unkind" comments, and I don't want to come under the vision of someone like, shall we say, The Bigly Orange Guy or his cohorts. Some people are having their WiFi sites deleted and they have been fired from their jobs. May only be those in certain places of employment where making untoward remarks are greatly frowned upon, but these days the world is making me a little paranoid sometimes.

It is 'brunch-time', as soon as I redistribute the laundry loads.

Gosh, it's a really nice day here. 72 degrees, 50% humidity. The spiders like it, too. They must spend all night spinning and weaving, only to have much of it knocked down the next day. After walking down the steps, and into the garden, I feel covered in webs. And from time to time, I find a little friend on my shoulder. We don't have poisonous spiders around here, but I do not like feeling them walking on me.

I rode to and from breakfast. I had my usual crispy Belgian waffle. Yum. Then home to peruse the papers online, and play the word puzzles. dh went to a worm composting class while I stayed home and cuddled the pups.

I am trying to project a budget for the garden I volunteer in. I asked at the garden store about prices for the fertilizer I might want, but all they could tell me what was in stock. I know for a fact that they have a master list and can special order because dh used to work there, but all they would tell me is what they have in stock.

dh agreed to cook dinner, but I had to decide and purchase what he will cook. I got him a turkey breast. Here's hoping he doesn't overcook it.

Speaking of interesting last names, my dh used to work in a hardware store where the manager's last name was Hammer, the sporting goods manager was Coleman, and dh was in the nursery and our last name is Rose.

I'm glad this day is over.

My mom went to school with a guy named.....honest to God.....Harry Zass. I hope that doesn't get bleeped, because that really was his name,

Good night!

Had a vet named Dr. Hiss. There's a radiologist Dr. Wray-Beam.

It was a good day. At 90 degrees it didn't feel like fall but I was in a fall mood so made beef stew. I bought the meat from a local shop that sells locally processed meat. I also bought some flank steak there. And sourdough bread.

The Sooners won again. The game was on at the diner where we had lunch.

Yesterday I picked up the library book gor the church book club. Finished it today.
