Hello all!
Joe, thanks for being so faithful starting the GM thread, I always look forward to reading what is going on in "our" lives. Sounds like you have a busy schedule today! I hope everyone enjoys what you have baked, and that you have a good walk and then an enjoyable date at the art show. Oh, and an open house! Fun!
Yesterday I drove over to water a friend's garden/plants (outdoor). It POURED rain (with lightning and thunder!) on the 15-minute drive over, and by the time I reached her place, the downpour had receded to a gentle shower. I phoned her, and we agreed I probably didn't need to water that day, LOL! I sent her photos of her sky-watered garden. I did warn her, before she left, that she was leaving the care of her plants to someone who has NO "green thumbs." NONE. NADA. NOPE. She grinned and said there wasn't much chance of my damaging anything, just watering. I still have this idea that my even being in the same VICINITY as the plants might affect them in some way...
Today we will attend Zoom Sabbath School. I may walk in the afternoon, as I slept pretty well last night and don't "need" to nap. Tomorrow we do music at Oak Glen, for it is apple season. A friend's group is doing music up there today.
The three fires are slowly getting contained, anywhere from 57% to 68% containment. Total damage of each fire is 29,000-39,000 acres. Huge kudos to all the firefighters and support crews, and evacuation centers and volunteers supporting and feeding all those involved.
The tuxedo cat that was vomiting night before last, seems fine now. Thanks for your concern. 🙂
Have a good day!
Got Nannie up and dressed and fed. Started one load of laundry, and will now put it in the dryer. Then I have to go upstairs and take a shower. Then I will come back down and start some more laundry. It's one of those days, doncha know. No plans except for getting clean clothes and a clean me.
Laundry will be done when the dryer buzzer yells out: BZZZZZZTTTT! It is the last load, thank goodness.
Nannie has been sleeping ALL afternoon! YAY! It happens when the pre-poured meds have a larger 1/2 tab of Lexapro. I knew when I emptied the little packet into her med cup and saw that larger 1/2 pill, that it would be a quiet afternoon!
It is time for me to wake her up for supper. Oh well, that just means it is closer to her bedtime 😀.
Joe, your day sounds fun. Hope all went well.
Glad the tuxedo cat is doing well.
We finally made it onto the water on Thursday. Tuesday we drove to the lake. Hubs said on the way there that he was afraid we would get there and he would realize he had forgotten something critical. Sure enough, he had forgotten the rudder. So we had a picnic by the lake and came home. Wednesday I went to a meeting at the hospital and we had choir practice so didn't try to sail. Thursday it was back to about 100 degrees. It took nearly 1.5 hrs to get the boat ready and in the water. I'm not sure I think it's worth it. But we enjoyed the time on the water. Yesterday was a recovery day.
Gma was hateful to Rose all week. She wouldn't cooperate with anything, yelling "NO" and "GO AWAY" and the usual "you're a shi!***"
Today I cleaned out the pantry. And polished my mother's silver teaset. I'm sure it's silver-plated. It was a gift from my aunt for my parents' 25th anniversary in 1975. It's pretty but I have no use for it. I just don't know what to do with it. We have far too much "stuff" and I want to reduce.
Now we are watching Oklahoma's first SEC conference game against Tennessee. It isn't going well. Tennessee's head coach is Josh Heupel who played for OU when they won their last national championship in 2000.

Almost fall, tomorrow is the autumnal equinox
Yesterday was initially quite busy for me. Went hiking at both one of the forest preserves and at the Arboretum. Then came home and did a bunch of baking, muffins and 2 cornbreads. After finishing the dishes I pretty much too it easy, watched Chinatown which I hadn't seen before
Today I have things going on all day. This morning I have a nature hike with the over 50 group, an event I'm co-hosting with another organizer. So far apart from the 2 of use no one else has signed up. Then this afternoon have another date, we'll meet for lunch then attend an art show by one of his former boyfriends. Then a couple from the gay group is having an open house for friends, family, etc...tonight so I'll bring the 2nd cornbread to that
Going to be another warm day, up to 90, thankfully after today we get relief, temps down to the 70s with rain, which we haven't had in a long time
