I hope to have an ordinary day, too. Which we all know means: taking Tinker out to be yanked around; getting "HER" out of bed, dressed, and fed; FINALLY putting my bed-linens in the wash; doing the dishes, and gathering up the overloaded waste baskets to empty, Nothing different.
My shoulders are a little sore at the injection sites, but not too bad. If I can locate the nicotine patches, I may have to put one on, because I REALLY want to smoke! This life is...... well....boring, tedious, and aggravating,
Hello all!
I slept enough hours, if restlessly, last night. I have no idea why I slept restlessly, but every time I looked at the clock, thinking I'd been awake for a few minutes, I found some hours had passed and I had, in fact, been asleep!
Dh's ankle is still sore, he elevates it as much as he can, and wears a compression stocking sometimes (it bothers him to wear it for a long time). There is no bruising, just a little swelling and pain -- we think it's probably not broken.
We had a good program last night. Dh and I arrived early so he could practice (he has realized that, as he ages, he needs more time to warm up with his banjo playing). The rest of the band arrived around 3:30, and we practiced some, and did mic set-up.
The pastor was preparing "hobo stew" -- we'd each brought a can of vegetables, to contribute to it. It turned out really well (they had a meat and a vegetarian version), and they had homemade biscuits and a chocolate chip cookie for each of us, too! About a hundred people showed up for the dinner and program, and they called it a Fall Festival. Everyone was dressed western (hats, neckerchiefs, boots, jeans, etc), and they were friendly. Our program went pretty well -- not without its small glitches but we just kept playing and things rolled along!
Looks like we may have rain here on Monday, Tuesday, and/or Wednesday. We're not complaining!
Joe, I hope you get to see SOME birds!
No Stars, I hope today is boring, Nannie-wise.
Have a good day/evening!
My Mom used to make "Nail Soup". It was essentially a beef based vegetable soup with a couple of large, long iron nails dropped into it. Supposedly it upped ones' iron content in their blood. Don't know if it did or not, but the kids at school thought "Nail Soup" was a joke. But we were just proud that our Mom, who had read about it somewhere, and was just silly enough and willing to try something new, no matter how weird it might be. And no, the nails didn't make it taste any different from any SANS-nails soup.
I was hornswoggled into trying a tiny taste of a fried chicken liver which a neighbor of my PDN patient made for him all the time. And Mein Gott! It was so delicious that I became addicted to those livers for a number of years and began cooking them for myself and others, who told me they were the best chicken livers they ever tasted! (the chicken livers were also quite cheap) Still have not had any 'good' beef liver dishes and won't even look at them in the grocery store. One grocery store in Asheville sold fresh, raw "Chicken donuts" which were the meat around and including the chickens' rectum. Although one shopper claimed they were "delicious" I just COULD NOT bring myself to buy or try them! 😝

Stars glad you got a break from her
Ado that is indeed good news
NJ22 it could be chills from the vaccine
Finally got my quiet day at work, no meetings or new cases. Bunch of documents to review flooded in before lunch, but was otherwise quiet
After work was pretty quiet too, just ran an errand and tried a simplified mai tai recipe, which turned out to be a bit of a disappointment. Got my reservation for the family reunion in June done
Was up at least 2-3 times in the early morning, not sure why, fell back to sleep each time
Today should be ordinary. Will go to the arboretum to walk and bird watch and will have lunch with dad.
Going to be in the mid 60s today
