Hello all!
One of my arms is still sore but better today. We will attend Zoom Sabbath School, but have no other plans, either for today or tomorrow. Yeah, laundry and a trip to the grocery store are the big items on schedule!
Joe, sounds like a nice trip and visit. You won't regret it, am sure. Oooo, frost on the ground, eh? Enjoy!
Have a good day!
Good Afternoon to one and all!
Well, the FINAL word on the PCH scammers: The 'supervisor' called hubby back this AM. He told her "We don't want the supposed prize of a Mercedes-Benz, we AREN'T going to send you money for the supposed taxes on it, we don't believe you are the real deal, and we want you to quit calling us." She said "So, in other words, you are wanting to cancel your winnings?" He said, "That's right, and be SURE you NEVER call out phone numbers again!" WHEW!
I was a wreck when I woke up this morning, hands trembling and feeling sick-ish. I went to Walmart pharmacy to pick up my Alprazolam which can be filled today.
Hubby's phone is not taking calls; he can get text messages, but otherwise everything goes straight to his voicemail. He has gone to Verizon to get it straightened out.
It is 3 PM and Nannie has not gotten up yet, I guess I should go now and check on her..... I'll probably have to clean her up, change her and give her her meds and feed her a late lunch. The fun never ends.
I just took one 0.5 mg Xanax to calm myself down.
Onward to the chores of the day---------------
The End? How silly of me to think so! When hubby went to Verizon, the same guy claiming to be from PCH, called hubby and said he was from the FBI, and he understood that hubby had been making threats to the PCH guy. Hubby called him on it, said he knew he was "Michael" and not actually from the FBI. The supposed "FBI" guy wanted to know why we didn't want to receive the free prizes offered, especially since they were 'free'. (Can you even imagine that someone from the FBI would actually be trying to get us to accept the scammer's prize offers?) Then he asked hubby where he was at that moment, hubby said he was at Verizon seeing if he could get them to find the real phone #'s from the multiple PCH calls. This guy said, "Oh no, you can't do that!" . Guess those people don't know that I have already filled out two Scam Reports on PCH's site to report them. Anyway, I hope and pray this really IS the end of this sleazy scam. GADS!
Good grief, those people are nothing is not persistent. I have had threats that the sheriff, the police and the constabulary were currently on their way to my house. Mostly, I don't answer numbers I don't recognize. They sort of go in waves. And somehow, no one has come to arrest me, yet.
I had a nice long run this morning. I had to start out with my hoodie on due to the chill. I'm watching the Mariners-Blue Jays baseball game, but I need to be doing trip prep. Or at least get some clothes washed. I called in some prescription refills and I hope they will fill them early. There are 2 that I am not supposed to miss any doses. And I'm going to get my flu shot Monday. dh got his and said his arm got pretty sore, more than his shingles or covid shot.
Seems all my prescription refills arrived today! I got online the other day and just clicked away on whatever needed filling!
Dh ordered a juicer, which arrived today and he tried it out on some pomegranates given to us by friends. The juice was good! It's a manual juicer, not one of those fancy juicers.
I asked if dh wanted to watch the most recent Murder On the Orient Express (released 2018??) tonight. He is thinking about it...
Yo, again.
Since Nannie had her lunch at 3:35 PM, she did not want any supper. She took her PM meds at 6-ish. Around 7:30 PM she was very sleepy and wanted to go to bed. She was worrying that she was putting us out by taking our bed, and I promised her that hubby and I could NOT sleep together comfortably, especially in a bed that was smaller than a double, like hers is. She actually had managed to change her clothes when she got up at 3 PM, AND when she went to bed later, and after double-checking the places she sat....no wetness!
As I covered her up in bed instead of hollering out to say, "I love you, good night," she said to tell her son, "Tell ______ I said 'Good-bye." which I thought was a trifle freaky because she looked kind of gray and exhausted. But I thought we could never get out of this whole arrangement that easy. Of course, were she to pass, that's a whole lot of responsibility, and then dealing with the lawyer, the investment guy, and the bank; more trouble to get it all straightened out. Not counting chickens before they hatch, just being wary about subsequential events, "IF"!
Earlier I had decided I was a bit worn out by the real-crime shows we usually watch. I turned to PBS and we watched a show about Loretta Lynn (1 + 1/2 hrs) a show paying tribute and recounting her life through various eras. I thought it was pretty well done. Hubby said he wasn't particularly "into" Loretta Lynn; well, me neither but it promised to be a good show so I watched it anyway. THEN, since they had both left the den, Nannie to go to bed, and hubby went up and took his PM insulin and then disappeared somewhere upstairs...I turned the TV on to 'SPY' which stars Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham, and Jude Law; it's a comedy. Well, hubby doesn't care for Melissa but he likes Jason Statham, but this isn't a serious bang-bang-shoot-em-up, so he went back upstairs. Now I am enjoying the last hour of "SPY". I like stupid, silly movies sometimes, y'know?
Hubby is going to bed, hallelujah. Tonight he didn't get offensively mushy, drunk with his booze-speak, mouthed slurring with his speech. Sometimes I wish I could drink, but not really. (I feel like getting him on a video on my phone so he can see what lovely company he makes) Then, maybe ask him if he plans to be a drunk for the rest of his life. Earlier I had said that it will be HIS decision to follow the Librium taper, I told him, but when he does FINALLY decide he's tired of being smashed (and unhappily so) he can start the Librium taper and start going to AA meetings. )"Oh," he says," I intend to do just that." Heck, even if he decides NOT to do the Librium taper, he STILL needs to start attending AA meetings. I'm going to get a list of the AA meetings on-line, and give them to him, just to plant a seed, and so he can't claim he doesn't know where mtgs are held. One day I will say, "Put up or shut up."
Thanks for listening; I have not a soul here or elsewhere to talk to. Al-Anon, they aren't really interested in listening to you ***; you're supposed to hop right into the literature and use it. That's all well and good, but I want to squawk, as well! It will all work out or it won't. wish I could just move out of this situation, but have zer0 money and no where else to live. I WANT our marriage to work out.
Hoping to hear about my new glasses at the beginning of the week. Maybe new glasses will have me singing, "I can see clearly now..." and "I can see obstacles in my way" ...
Time to hush. Later/tomorrow---------

NJ22 glad you feel better
Tweety that was a nice compliment
Dianah I hope you feel better
Got downstate to my aunt's with no issue, my first time visiting in more than 7 years. Was nice to see my cousin too, I don't think I've seen her in more than 10 years.
Little annoyed my phone won't work here, except when I'm on the hotel wifi. Might pick up a cheap burner phone, just so I can call and text. Wouldn't want to have a breakdown on the way home and not be able to call the auto club
Will be up to 60 here, this morning it was below feeezing and frost on the ground. Hoping this will mean that Js allergies, which continue to be bad, get better
