Good morning!
I aced Chemistry in both High School and college. I love science and it all makes sense to me. It wasn't easy though.
Nothing much going on today. Dogs let me sleep an hour later and I woke up on my own. Fed them and we all went back to bed. I sleep two more hours and they are still in bed.
You know, a person at the age of 75 should NOT have to deal with a large ZIT on the side of the nose!! I treated it last night with ichthymol (sp?) drawing salve and it seems to have helped, but still, I am WELL OVER the age of pimples, dammit!
Had my coffee and am going to get Nannie up in about 15 minutes. Don't know of any urgent tasks or chores.....or am I trying NOT to know of any?
Today is in the lower to mid-60's and VERY sunny; sure to make Nannie exclaim about the sunshine. Better than the rain we had on Thursday, which made Nannie kind of morose.
I hope today is a dull day during which sleep overtakes the Nannie-person. We'll see.
Nannie has been "mostly' sleeping, but rouses too easily, especially to odd but not particularly loud noises, like something as simple as clearing ones throat. So it is a quiet day, but not one in which I can leave her alone for a few hours while I go upstairs. She woke up once, frowning, looked around, saw me, and said, "Where are we?"
The answer is "Your den, Your house, Your property." Followed by telling her the time of day, and that she has been napping. Momo is bored. I am, kinda, too. So is this post!
A drip, drip, drip day here. The temp got down to the 30s, but didn't freeze. We are dog-sitting dd's shepherd-lab mix. She's a nice dog, but is a little nervous around our 2. I took her to the off-leash park this morning so she could run and play fetch, and splash in the water. She hasn't eaten much today, I suppose from nerves.
I got new glasses ordered yesterday. They will take up to 2 weeks to make. And I bought some new running shoes. I made 2 kinds of cookies yesterday: Lemon Drop Cookies (they have crushed lemon candies in them) and a ginger snap. Today I was making Elvis cookies--peanut butter, banana, crushed pretzels, choc chips, and bacon. At the same time I was making french bread. Somehow, I forgot to put the sugar in the cookies. Rats. Im not sure if I want to try making them again. They are not as tasty as I would have thought. The bread looks pretty. I'm going to take it to ds's house tonight. They invited us for dinner.
I too, enjoyed chemistry, especially college. I had an amazing teacher. I didn't take organic chemistry because it wasn't required, and I was tight for funds. Looking back, I wish I would have. Shoulda, coulda, woulda.

Stars I've found too that dealing with insurance companies is often long and frustrating
Tweety glad you'll be having a week off
Dianah that would be a bit chilly to play instruments outside
Thankfully all was well at work yesterday, no new cases or anything unexpected. Got done by 2 and left as planned
Nothing particularly exciting after work. Did some cleaning then ran a bunch of errands, World Market for the loose leaf tea I like in addition to Target for cleaning supplies and Half Price Books for a calendar and a chemistry textbook. I always thought chemistry was neat but struggled with it in high school, did a little better in college. Want to try giving it another shot
Today will do the usual bird watching and then lunch with dad, moved up a half hour to accommodate his antibiotic schedule. Svengoolie has the Dr. Phibes sequel which I'll skip. Have taken to watching an brief evening prayer service my seminarian friend does online on Saturday nights
Another day in the 50s, thankfully no rain
