Good morning!
Joe, glad yesterday wasn't as stressful and hope you have a good weekend and enjoy the gala.
Weather here will stay in the low 70's with a high of 72. I have my heat set for 74 and pretty sure it came on sometime through the night. 74 is my comfort level indoors through the Winter but I think this is the earliest I had the heat come on even though for some of you guys up north 74 indoors is too warm.
Did the usual day off of getting up and feeding Waffles and returning to bed for a couple more hours. Not much on the agenda. Need to come up with something for dinner and go to the gym, and it's wash the sheets day.
Have a good day.
So, I have put off 'starting my day' as long as I can. Have to get up and get dressed. It is going to be in the low 60's today, but at least the sun is shining. One of these days I will get to attend to myself and not have to divert to all the other things piled on me to get done. Looking forward to that day, but have no expectations that it will occur anytime soon.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend.
Hi. The predicted atmospheric river that was supposed to move in last week, started last night. I felt bad for the trick or treaters having to slog around in the wet. We have had an inch of rain in the last 6 hours, which isn't terrible, but there are lots of puddles! There is a flood watch, to peak this afternoon around high tide. I went for a short walk while it was raining lightly, and the heavens seemed to open up about 15 min in. At least it's not cold (52) and not windy. I wouldn't mind 74, but the person I live with would.
I made some interesting scones yesterday: pumpkin ginger cranberry scones with maple butter. dh keeps finding these recipes with unusual ingredients and I sometimes miss seeing them until I am starting to mix things up. This recipe called for muscovado sugar. Huh? Turns out it is a very dark brown, unrefined sugar. I substituted light brown sugar, which is what I had, and I think they turned out fine.
dh was upset with the dogs last night and scolded them. I think he scared Punch, who was shaking with his ears pinned back. They chewed up a toy and scattered fluff, which is not unusual, but for some reason, this called for scolding.
I've cleaned up the bathrooms, and I'm waiting for my turn with the washing machine. dh found some soup mixes he had squirreled away so I think I will make the potato leek soup for dinner. It calls for red potatoes, but I have some russets that will work.
Oh me oh my. Four loads of laundry are waiting in line to be taken care of after the first of the 5 loads gets through with its cycles. Nannie soaked her bed much more than usual....all the way through to the mattress protector, in the diameter of TWO side-by-side 30 inch pizzas. The kitchen sink has been doing the 'be fruitful and multiply' thing, so there's that to take care of. Nannie wanted to know what her sweater sleeve was. HUH?? Yup, she held up her arm and pulled on the sleeve a little bit and said, "What's this?"s
I am doing some breathing exercises to try to cool my jets. My jets MAY get cooled, but it still doesn't really help all that much, since my thoughts are racing around the same track. At least Nannie's eyes and mouth are closed.
Well, y'all know all of these woes, so I will stop beating this dead horse now.

Stars hope today was fairly calm
Tweety glad you're starting to feel better
Yesterday was even busier at work than Thursday. My own workload wasn't bad, but the person I was covering for had stuff to do and a 2nd new case, which I decided to leave for Monday. Worked on the first new case and the other tasks and documents. Did not get as stressed as I had the previous day, and only had to cut lunch a little short
After work was quiet, exercised and watched It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown
Today will head to the arboretum in the morning for some bird watching, then lunch with dad. In the evening have the fundraising gala with the gay group
Will be cooler today, in the low 50s
