86 degrees, partly cloudy, and 51% chance of rain today.
I got up at the crack of noon ⛅. Nannie is up, dressed, and fed, and her bed was NOT wet!! Momo up, fed, and did her business on the underpad. No more trapped mice in the other traps, so I think I got the only one. Honestly, it walked around acting like I wasn't even there, as if there was no one in the room....BRAZEN. But now, quite dead!
I have a few items to get at the store; I may have to take Nannie along on the drive to get my refills, but I haven't decided yet. Might just jog (not really actually jogging, I'm sure you know.) to the convenience store and just blow off Walmart until tomorrow. I'm so good at avoiding and eluding!
Don't know what else might be happening today. My vote is for "not much".
Glad the trip is going well so far, Joe.
Stars, I'm a master at avoidance. Just ask my therapist! 😂But he might not remember because I've been avoiding him, too.
We are under a tornado watch again this evening. I bought ribs yesterday and they are baking low and slow in the oven. Twin A made French toast this morning. Kitchen cleanup and laundry processing is all I've done today.
I remember once at my in-laws we found what had been a package of Hershey's kisses but mice had eaten the chocolate and left the little foil wrappers.
G'day
I've lived with vermin before. One place was really bad. One big rat was in my bedroom eating an apple it had gotten off of my dining room table. Having dogs I really can't set out traps but have had a few that like my fruit trees. The trees are long gone on hopefully too the rats.
Work was steady. I was in charge with two patients. They added a new thing on the weekends that my manager called to implore me must be done no matter what and that's the old leadership rounds with the iPad thing. Screw that. But I did it. In fact I was already doing it when she called. I love having work piled on me to an already busy day.
Found out my old neuro manager from about 25 years ago is dying of cancer. She's my age. Sigh......
So frustrated with Nannie and her increasing hallucinations. I went on line to see if I could learn anything about how to deal with it....I was reminded of all the do's and don't's re: taking care of an dementia/Alzheimer's patients....which I am not so much practicing any more; I'm not as bad as hubby got, because I do not yell at her and TRY to aggravate her. But, I AM arguing, correcting, impatient, etc..........aaaaand I do not get enough breaks from her care either!
She told me that two men came up from the woods and came to the back of the patio to inspect the two hanging plants, and then one went back down in the woods and the other went around to the side of the house. Just to humor her, I walked down the back yard and stood listening for any noises in the woods (there were none) and then around the house so I could honestly tell her there was no on on the property now. Even though I have been sitting here with her all afternoon, and saw NO ONE in our yard ....which is usually the case when she tells me about people out there. When I came back around the house she was outside talking to me and pointing down in the woods. EGADS! So I got her back in her chair and closed the drapes and turned on the TV to distract her, which stopped the hallucinations for the time being.
SiL will take Nannie for the afternoon on Tuesday, so there's a little bit of time to look forward to.
Didn't go out this afternoon except to take Nannie on a ride to SUBWAY around 4:30 PM, because I didn't feel like dirtying any dishes or cooking, and we haven't had a steak and cheese sub (loaded up with veggies) in many months. So that was good. And she told me she was "THRILLED" with getting to go out in the car with me because I really knew what I was doing, 🙄 And she likes the way I drive so well. Oh, goody goody.
Time to go upstairs and unwind; I got Nannie into bed when she requested to go to bed at 9:30 PM. Whew!
G'night!

Got some bird watching done yesterday before leaving to see my aunt
Encountered rain and storms on my drive down, the last so bad I had to pull over for a bit until the rain slowed. Arrived later than I expected, had dinner at my aunt's
Today we're going to visit a local nature preserve, then go out to dinner tonight. I'll leave tomorrow morning. A fairly quiet trip but not a lot to do in a small farming town
Nice here right now, cloudy in mid 70s no rain today
