Good "Morning"! (2:35 PM)
Last night I turned the light out at 1:35 AM. Woke up every hour after that, until about 5:30 AM. Finally fell asleep! Got up at 10 AM and brought Nannie her breakfast.
I don't know what I did last night to make my (L) knee so achey and sore, but it is. UGH. Got up again at 1:30 PM. Sat on the front porch w/ hubby and listened to him talk. Now he is going to get the cars washed, one at a time. He had to take my $60 from my wallet to have them done; I think he said that 'my' car (which he uses most of the time) would cost $31 to wash the outside and clean the inside, and Nannie's car only needs the outside washed. Personally I think a good basic wash of the exteriors would suffice (lots of pollen on 'em).
He was carrying on about how his brother and his daughter don't/won't do anything regarding Nannie-- visiting, offering to take care of her -- even for a day. Then he said if he and/or Nannie dies he wants me to know that EVERYTHING here is mine and "can't nobody can take it from you." OY! Then various complaints about this and that and the other. I guess he got up with his brain churning with irritation with the world, both generally and specifically.
I am sitting on the sofa with my leg up, with cold packs on my (L) knee. Thankfully Nannie is sleeping. There is supposed to be a ballgame on at 4-ish, on a channel we can get (I hope!) The AC is set on 65 because hubby says it is hot and humid. (It may be so, but if you sit still and stop grousing and complaining about everything, maybe you won't sweat so much!) But it is kind of cold down here in the den, in spite of the space heater being on. After the cold pack permeates and numbs my knee, I'll go upstairs and get a hoodie to keep my arms and shoulders warmer.
I know it is Saturday because my phone and my laptop says so, but it feels like Sunday to me. I have been 'off' about every day this week that I think it is. Maybe someone is switching days around in my head. (Gee, who might THAT be!)
Gosh, j22, I hate to hear about your need for another pacemaker. This is not making light of it, but...two scars are better than dead. I just hate that you have to go through all that a second time. But I was heartened to hear your doctor really listened to you.
It is sunny, breezy, and there are big, heavy clouds floating around... some very dark, some whiter than white. Not sure about the possibility of rain showers or stronger storms. I don't know if the baseball game will be in Atlanta or San Diego, but maybe the weather will hold so the game can be played.
I'm going to look through the Vermont Country Store catalog, (at all the things I can't afford to get,) and the recent Reader's Digest. I don't know what I'd do if I wasn't an avid reader. Hubby says he wishes he had a 'hobby" like I do. Shoot, reading isn't exactly a hobby, it just keeps my brain busy so I don't go stark, raving mad!! And reading is peaceful, too. If we could get that 2nd shed and unload our still-packed stuff from the first shed, he would have a workshop-room to putter around in there...
So, here I go into the catalog.
Hope everybody's weekend is tolerable!
Good afternoon. Zero excitement around here. Dog is snoring on the couch next to me. I watched the last episode of Ozark, while cleaning up the kitchen, doing laundry, and just decluttering. It's wet and cool outside. I went for a run, that felt pretty good. Dh went off to give a talk at a garden club 5 hours ago and I have no idea if or when he's coming back.
Yes, Stars, better 2 scars than dead. I was just hoping to put it off for a year or two. And dh will freak out when I ever get around to telling him. I think I was a real b after the first one.
Joe, it sounds like a nice day you have planned, and your weather has improved.
Tweety, it's always a good sign when ER is slow. You have good reasons to be down, and I hope you do something kind for yourself.
Well, I think the dryer has finished another load. Maybe for some excitement, I clean the bathrooms.
j22, If you want some REAL excitement, we have TWO bathrooms that need cleaning! Of course, it would be a heck of a commute...
We have talked about having someone come in and professionally clean the bathroom floors, the kitchen floor, and foyer floor, but so far, it has only been talk. Not even asked for estimates yet.
So many things on the list. *sigh* We are also both kind of depressed; must be the full moon. Maybe the eclipse will wipe out and drag away the glooms?
meh.

Tweety it's understandable, given all the stressors, that you would experience some depression
Stars I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't some sort of air cooled mattress
Hi Dianah
NJ22 sorry to hear about needing another pacemaker
Yesterday was definitely Friday the 13th, crazy busy at work, one person out and one of the people covering for her had computer issues. Did get to take lunch, and managed to leave on time, but worked right up until the last minute. Glad next week is as 4 day work week for me
Today will be going to the arboretum in the morning. I'll do some cooking when I come home, have lunch with dad, then do some baking. Svengoolie has The Abominable Dr. Phibes, which I remember being pretty good
A bit cooler today, will be in the 80s, and will be in the 70s by tomorrow, which will be a relief
