8:45 AM and I am awake and drinking coffee; Momo is napping after finishing her breakfast. I am deciding whether I want to doze off again or stay up and start in on my puttering in the main bedroom. Since I am going to spend the next week getting Nannie up early, dressed, and tote her over to the Sr. Ctr 3 days this next week., it might not be a bad idea to become accustomed to rising early. (Did *I* just say that?!)
BiL is going to come over and mow the lawn today, and I'm not sure, but SiL will probably show up with enough incontinence supplies for this next week. But maybe she will not stay long, as she has to pack up their stuff in the car. BiL says she likes to start out at the crack of dawn when they head for the beach. Even though they are a help to me, I have to say I am looking forward to not having them around. I want them to see I am perfectly capable of getting this place all straightened out and then just resting in the glow of my accomplishments!
Another day while Nannie is at daycare, I will straighten out MY room. That will leave only my previous (smaller) bedroom as the heaping-est, clutteriest room, which I can go at at my leisure, so to speak. There are lots of things to pitch out, other things to store. I can also shut the door to that room and close off the visual mess. I also hope to thin out the things I have to have shredded, and that's a big one to take care of. My theory is that if I can reduce the shredding by just cutting out/off my name and address and any of those "scan this" squares, to avoid having my identity lifted. I MAY decide to take the identifiers to get them shredded, and if there is less to shred (relatively speaking) I may go ahead and pay for it to be shredded, just to have it GONE!
Well, I might as well get up and get dressed so my day will be longer than if I get up at my usual mid-day time. Quiet time without the Nannie-person needing to be attended to can be put to good use. I will let her sleep as late as possible, which generally means I get her up just after 12 noon.
Anyway, onward and upward to Victory for the 39th! (Whatever that means!)
Later, y'all!
G'day.
Joe, hope you have a good weekend.
I slept late after getting up at 7:00 to feed Waffles who was already out of bed informing me it was time to get up. I went back to bed and slept to a whopping 10AM.
I really don't have anything to do today. Will wash the sheets and go to the gym.
It's summertime. Average high of 90 this time of year and not quite yet the rainy season.
Have a great day.
It was 60 degrees when I got up; it is now 73 degrees and supposed to be on its way to 80 degrees. The humidity is 65% and there is a possibility of rain and/or thunderstorm .....in about 3 minutes, which will be noon. But, I don't think it's going to be happening any time soon, no matter what 'they' say!
The itching has reduced some more, and my joints think they are 'normal'. Just ate a sandwich so I can take my Prednisone; will take the Allegra later on.
I spent 1 + 1/2 hours in the main bedroom and got a lot taken care of....straightened out the closet and found 2 of my father-in-laws' 70+ year old wool Navy uniforms! Not the fancy kind, though. And a very thin wool blanket that was packed with them. Two drawers in the dresser need to be gone through, and there's a trash bag laden with cards sent to FiL over the years. I put the extra pillows and comforters on the top shelf of the closet, and the empty suitcases are on the closet floor tucked into the corner. It's a possibility they will never be used again, but have to save them Just-In-Case. Going to use a BIG Rubbermaid box to store my Winter things in. Haven't really had to use many Winter clothes this year, as it has been a warm one, but some of them are also Just-In-Case, so into the box they will go. May vacuum that bedroom later. There are two large Rubbermaid boxes with family photos, Y'know..... the ones of the kids (niece and nephew) in their sports uniforms....football, cheerleader, and the like, given each year to the grandparents. There aren't enough walls (or interest) to hang them up. I will let them go through the photos to decide which ones to keep and which to pitch. Have another box of assorted items to take to the thrift shop next week, Bizzy, bizzy, busy!
Almost time to roust the Nannie out of bed, but I am dragging my feet on that and will wait another 10 minutes. And I guess it is almost time for BiL to arrive and do the mowing. Not sure what else I will do today.....finish drying a load of laundry, and maybe dragging out from under the kitchen counters (lower cabinets) all the now unused containers that were used to bring large servings of food to the church. Won't be using them, and if SiL doesn't want 'em, to the thrift shop they will go.
I love having quiet time to myself to get things done! Other times, we all know I am very slothful and do NOTHING; but this is not going to be the week for that!
I gave Nannie some cut up melon pieces, and she promptly dumped the fruit into the beef pot roast. I told her, "Okay, now that you've done that, you are going to eat it all." She actually did, so when she was through, I gave her 4 oz of vanilla ice cream and a choc. chip cookie for dessert. She said she "didn't know it was fruit" when she put it in the pot roast. Wonder what she thought it was, or if she even thought at all. There's more and more things she doesn't know, which is to be expected, but she frequently blows me away 🤯 when she starts doing weird things with her food and constantly re-arranging things on her tray. It's been a long day for me, and around suppertime she has the uncanny ability to REALLY get to me. (URGH!) It's like being nibbled to death by ducks.
Have to call the vet Monday AM.....Momo has a persistent and sometimes quite LOUD dry cough with gagging, but nothing comes up. They told me last time she was there, she had a heart murmur. And now she is in heat, I guess, because she blotted some blood from her nether-regions on her bed. Won't be any surgery to fix her because of the heart-murmur. I got out a bottle of "Calm down" spray and sprayed it in her mouth, hoping it will at least ease her throat. (It has.)
When the news was on: "Who is that ugly person?" and "Is this real?" and "What are they talking about?" (The story about tRump and the tariffs.) Now, there is another repeat on HGTV (Vacation House Rules).
I think I have to turn my attention to the Word Find puzzles so I can cool my jets before I short-circuit. Maybe I can get her to go to bed a bit early. I hope!
Bye~
'lo. Quiet day. Went to breakfast, walked home. Listened to "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me". Then had an hour massage. She concentrated on my tight calves and feet. Then home to pick up clutter, fold laundry from yesterday, started watching a new series (to me) on Netflix, called Sirens. Meh. Took dogs on a walk between rain showers. Cooking braised pork chops for dinner.
I'm getting discouraged with this foot tendinitis thing. 3 weeks of PT and exercises and little change. doc says can't shoot it with prednisone. Bah. Getting old sucks.

NJ22 glad the foot is better and that you're sleeping better
Stars sounds like a productive day
Dianah I've had issues with baking turning out dry too, as a result I often modify recipes
Ado I too am reluctant to drive around strange cities
Tweety glad work was good
Work was good yesterday, did get a new case in the afternoon but it still was not bad.
After work drove to the German restaurant to meet my church friend D and someone else from church. Had a good time, this one was better than the previous German restaurant that she and I had gone to previously. Might be a while before we get together again as she's having spinal fusion surgery next week
Today should be an ordinary Saturday for me. The usual bird watching and lunch with dad. Will stop at the grocery store for some fish for next week
Svengoolie has The Haunted Strangler with Boris Karloff, which I'm pretty sure I've seen before. Lately I've been watching Star Trek Picard in addition to an Italian series, The Law According to Lidia Poet
Going to be a bit cooler here, in the mid 60s
