Dianah I'm glad your DH is feeling better

Tweety hope you hear good news about the position

Stars hope you don't fall with all of that ice around

Work was slower than usual once again, so a fairly quiet day for me.  Ran a quick errand and did some research on new dating apps and sites

Slept oddly last night, up at least 2-3 times with strange dreams.  Wonder if it's that new roasted cacao I was trying yesterday afternoon. It's supposed to have a lot of theobromine, which is milder than caffeine but lasts longer.  It's also a diuretic, which may also explain why I was up.  Will skip it going forward

Today have bird watching this morning, if things aren't too messy with the inch or two of snow we got yesterday.  Will have lunch with dad, will probably watch part of Svengoolie a he's showing Dracula's Daughter which is pretty good.  Might work on a CEU as well

Bit warmer today, low 30s, no snow expected today but some expected tomorrow

Good morning.

Joe, hope you get to do some bird watching.

Got an annoying text after 1AM that I got a new document over at FEMA.  It was a rejecting of getting any help after Milton.  Not surprising but was hoping to get a little something.  But 1AM?  Really.  I could call them but now I imagine with the fires in Los Angeles they are overwhelmed so I guess I'm done.

Spent some time talking to a friend whose husband is septic after back surgery and sounds a mess.  My friend is very worried.  His husband is much older at 78 and he's in his early 40's.  The older man has always been in charge of everything but my friend is stepping up but getting exhausted.  With that kind of age gap days like this are bound to come.

I'm not sure how to take things at work.  Apparently another applicant was called into the office and was rejected.  So three people called into the office.  It seems to me that a decision was made and not sure me not being called into the office is a good sign or that they are avoiding telling me I was rejected.

Not thing much going on today.  I'm off for four days.    I've changed the sheets and will do some laundry and go to the gym.  Will look for a movie to watch and relax some.  I found a recipe for Korean sweet potatoes I might try and a tomato salad.

Have a great day!

I can't say good morning because the big hand and the little hand are both straight up at 12 noon. Nannie was still in bed when I went down to the kitchen to get my "first cup" of coffee. I could use a good lounging in bed for another hour or so, but alas, it is not to be, as my life doesn't encompass lollygagging.

The sun is shining and there is no ice or snow anywhere, so I guess the "Big Storm" hullabaloo is all over. The TV channel we watch is soooo into weather, they had 5 or 6 people covering the storm in various spots around Charlotte yesterday. But, that's a good thing, thorough coverage for everyone! The six o'clock report this evening will be photos of the storm's events....fallen trees and cars slid off the roads, etc., but at least we didn't have fire-wreckage here. I feel so bad for those folks in L.A., no longer HOME owners, but probably still have to pay on an original mortgage. I can't imagine losing EVERYTHING like that.

Had an interesting night....at 3 AM Momo threw up in the bed, under the covers. I'm glad I didn't discover it by putting my foot in it!  I cleaned it up and tossed a chux over it upside-down, to absorb the moisture left in that spot. I was not about to strip the bed and remake it at that hour of the night. Then Nannie got up ( yes, at 3 AM!) and was about to sit in the recliner when I 'caught her', and ushered her back to bed.

So, today's itinerary includes stripping my bed to launder everything. I kind of dread having to remake the bed, as the mattress is so thick, making the fitted sheet difficult to deal with, and my right hand is requiring the brace on, as the twinging in my lateral right hand is kinda pinchy. Could be worse; maybe by the time the mattress has to be 'rassled with, the meds will have kicked in, and my hand won't require the brace any more.

Every time I think of the word "brace", I am reminded of Robin Williams in Mrs Doubtfire saying that her husband's idea of foreplay was saying, "Brace yourself, Effie."

Other than laundry, some dishes, and trash-patrol, I have no other plans for the day. All I have to do is get through the day, enduring whatever comes from Nannie's head/brain. Gosh, you KNOW I hope she naps! I may be in a reality-soap opera, 'The Tedious Days of Our Lives.'

Welp, another 1/2 hour has passed, so I better get up and get dressed.... "No rest for the weary." But it is what it is. I have to re-route my thoughts to being thankful for living in a good house and area, and not having to pay any mortgage or rent. As Bill Murray said in one of his movies, " I LIKE it!" Of course he was talking about cocaine, but still.....

Time to stop jabbering and get on with things....

I forgot to mention that I discovered why the laptop's battery was low.....I DID plug in on the laptop, but forgot that the main plug had to go into the outlet (I had unplugged it to plug in the vacuum cleaner). So, mystery solved.

OK, Nannie has had her breakfast and meds, so it is time to get her dressed. Laundry has already been started.....I only have two loads of my stuff to do. And later, I have to remake the bed. But I have to take care of Nannie before she dozes off, if she is going to.....

Stars, I've had lapses like that with my phone. It was plugged in all night so while isn't the battery charged? Maybe because the charger isn't plugged into the outlet?

Joe, I was surprised we didn't have lice shampoo in stock, too. But needs must so I drove in the snow to get it. Unfortunately, that patient had an MI early yesterday morning and was on comfort care until he died a few hours later. 😢

A hospital about 25 miles away closed this week. They've had problems for a few years and actually closed once before. I don't know if they were a critical access hospital or not. I would think so.

The snow is all but gone now. I met my old friend for lunch and actually had a very good visit. Today is my sister's 73rd birthday. I tried to call but no answer. She did say something the other day about plans with her son and his wife.
