It's not cooler here! It is somewhere around, or north of, 90 degrees, with humidity at 86%. I had to convince Nannie it is not a good day for her to go sit outside in the sun! This is like the 4th day in a row that she has not napped during the afternoon.....Why, why, WHY?? She is squinting out at the sunny back yard and frowning. I hope she doesn't get really restless and want to go out to walk the driveway. At times, that is a good thing to have her do, but today's weather negates the 'good' of the idea.
Miracle of miracles, she was up, dressed, dry, and had already made her (dry) bed when I came downstairs! That was nice! I just now took her into the bathroom because she said she had to pee. So a few minutes later when I asked her if she had peed yet, She said no, she didn't think so, and she didn't feel like she had to pee now. So I helped her stand up and saw two huge BMs in the toilet.....and when I said something about it, she said she did not even know she had pooped! Talk about a short attention span! So 10 minutes later she said she had to go poop. Back into the bathroom, and did she poop? No. But at least she peed. A bit disconnected between her head and her body. More amyloids spreading out, I guess. Just now was the third time to the bathroom with no results, which says to me that it is time to get some AZO at the drugstore, and switch back to cranberry juice from Cran-apple.
Night before last I had one of those inexplicable vertigo episodes. Hasn't happened in quite a while, but when I stood up my body decided it was going to move all wonky and it seemed like I had to ricochet off things to avoid falling.....but I wasn't the least bit dizzy! I went upstairs (carefully) and took a Dramamine. Thank goodness they have the same med in them as the prescription I had rec'd previously when I was having vertigo. Anyway, it was kind of weird; I don't understand what makes the vertigo happen, especially when there is absolutely NO dizziness involved. Oh well.
I got a new bed for Momo and she LOVES it....it is one of those opened-shell kind of shapes, so she is in bed with a 'roof' over her, that nicely keeps the AC vent from blowing on her. Now she doesn't have to dig herself under a lap-robe on the sofa to stay warm. She got right in it, sniffed all over inside, and settled right down. A successful purchase! She wouldn't let me carry her downstairs this morning, but we won't tell the vet that! I am okay getting her liquid meds into her. She doesn't exactly like it, but I manage without having to argue with her too much! And I can tell that neither of the meds taste very good, as she makes the awfullest faces and her tongue looks like it wants to get out of her mouth! ...Ick-blick-ptooey!
Almost suppertime, if I can convince Nannie to eat early, that is. Nope, she said she Is hungry but she doesn't want to eat anything. Whaddya gonna do? To comfort myself, I will just say that there's 5 + 1/2 hours until it's her bedtime! And in another 1/2 hour I will go up to the kitchen and prepare her supper tray anyway.
Something my co-workers and I used to do at the hospital to convince ourselves the shift was passing faster than it really was......at eleven AM we'd say it's almost lunch time, and a 1 PM we'd say it was almost 2 PM....At 2 PM we'd say it's almost 2:30..... It was just something silly we got into....like, even after we got the AM report from the night shift, (back when report was done in the nurse's lounge), we'd say that pretty soon it would be time to go home! And that was back in the day of 8 hour shifts. It didn't work as well when they changed us to 12 hour shifts, which were ENDLESS!
Hope y'all are well and having a good weekend!
It's nice here, 77, although the wind is kicking up. We may get rain and lightning tonight. The forests would benefit from rain, but not the lightning. I have accomplished a whole lot. Went for a jog, washed dishes, got the recycling out, scooped dog waste, fixed my bike helmet, trip to the pharmacy. And I finally, put down a deposit on a trip to Europe. dh kept hemming and hawing, but I made the executive decision that we are going to the Netherlands and Belgium in the Spring. I booked an 11 day tour. Perhaps the following year I'll look at Italy.
Joe, that sounds like a nice time-museum, pub, and music. I hope your kitty is not restarting a vomit cycle.
Stars, it is so hard to restrict pet activity. I'm glad Momo likes her new bed.
Youngest ds got super mad at the dogs yesterday. We bought all these groceries for him to use for his new recipes, and other than the refrigerated stuff, I left the bags on the table. I get so sick of being the only one in this house that can put anything away. Well, when no one was looking, the dogs got into the groceries and chewed up a box of Protein + pasta. I got that cleaned up, and do you think he made any effort to put the rest of it away? LOL. Nope. I think he is a clutter bug just like his dad. gah.
Sorry, just had to vent that.
Nannie put on a 2nd jacket over her blazer, and then the shoulder wrap....She said she was going outside! So I grabbed the rollator and said let's go...."Oh My, it is REALLY hot out here!" (I did not say 'told ya so') Took off both jackets and the wrap. Walked once to the end of the driveway and she had to come back into the house. "Oh My! It's COLD in here!" But 5 minutes later she said she wanted to go out for a walk. OK, so back outside and I made her take 2 full loops of the driveway walk. Came back in and went through a second "Oh My! It is really COLD in here!" I had picked up the mail at the end of the driveway, and when I started opening it , she asked what I was doing. She said she didn't want me to open any of her mail; no problem, there was nothing for her. Then we had to go through the explanation of how her son was taking care of her finances, paying her bill. She said, in an irate tone, "Is that LEGAL?"🙄 She was cranky until I set her supper tray in front of her and then she was quiet while she ate.
Thank goodness SiL is coming over to get Nannie tomorrow!
Momo is still loving her new bed; she's so cute in it!
G'day.
Pink is my favorite singer from the 2000's, such passion and honesty and she puts on a good show. Would love to see her live. My favorite singer of all time remains, and most likely will remain Karen Carpenter.
Work was rather uneventful. We have a patient that just can't get reoriented and gets up ever 2 minutes on and on.

Tweety glad you spoke up about the changes
NJ22 that is sobering, and amazing that he is still going
Ado that´s a lot of cousins, though I think I have 8 on my father's side
Stars I hope that Momo recovers quickly from whatever is bothering her
Work was not bad yesterday, although had to take a break to clean up a whole lotta cat vomit. Won't complain too much, she's gotten a lot better since the vet gave her that injection
After work met my friend from the gay group for dinner at a local barbecue place. We were also going to go to an outdoor concert but that was canceled due to weather. Which was good as we had severe storms later
Today will head to the Arboretum. Then will head downtown for another date, this time at a veteran's art museum, and then a pub downtown. Afterwards might attend a charity music performance that my friend had mentioned that I think is happening somewhere nearby
Will be a cooler day today, up to 80, although it will be rainy during parts of today
